Looks impressive, but the price is prohibitive... and in Oz I reckon that rig 'd come in around $20,000+  AUD.

Funny thing, that, the Oz dollar is the strongest it has been against the greenback in years, yet PC hardware, software prices keep going up and up and up.  6 months ago I bought 2 sticks (twin pack) of DDR2 800 RAM for $79. 05 AUD,  that same RAM today is 2 bucks shy of $190.00 AUD.... so a mid-sized car is gonna cost less than a rig like that.

Starkers i purchased DDR2 ram (4 gigs) for less than 45 bucks about 6 months ago now it is well over a hundred bucks

What a beast of a machine that is!   I do like the way it looks, but at around 100 pounds.....you would need a solid desk to put it on....and a manly man to move it.

As you can see from the price comparison, we do pay considerably more for the same thing... which is why a rig like the one M-203 linked to would be 20 grand plus and out of the reach of most gamers/average users. 

I'd like to build a machine around an Intel i7 920, but Id be looking at $2000 plus just for the mobo, CPU, RAM, PSU, and graphics card, and that'd be after I'd harvested my own case, sound card, HDD's and ROM drives, etc.  To do it all from scratch, it'd be in excesss of $3000 AUD. 

The Oz dollar is trading at a tad under 92c US, so somebody is profiteering/gouging when I hear folks in the States are building similarly rated machines for under a grand... and given many of the parts are made in Asia, and much closer to Australia, the shipping costs would be far less than getting those same parts to the US.  Yup, somebody is ripping us off orright.

Nah, you'd need a much bigger one for a monster like that.

WWWWAAAAAAYYYYYYY to much money when you can build that system without it being bullet proof for way less...ill stick with a comfortably priced system...even if i had the money to burn i would never pay for that thing...waste of money

Same here!  The only thing that makes this machine stand out in the crowd, really, is the liquid cooling system.  With good after-market cooling, a machine with those hardware specs is gonna be a fraction of that quoted price and run more than well enough for the average home user/gamer.

Nope, those machines are novelties and for people with more money than sense.

Huh, I get better framerates than that on Crysis.
