Equipment Stacking

Dumb Question from a 50% Coupon Newbie

A guy I knew gave me his 50% off coupon and I figured I'd give Demigod a shot.

So far, I like it, though I have one minor question. Do different pieces of the same type of equipment stack? Could you buy, sa,y 5x pairs of boots and get 5x the benefit? Could you buy 5 of the same type of boots?

Also, is there any penalty to death aside from giving the enemy gold/EXP?

You cannot buy the same equipment twice, but if 2 different items have effects like ( increase speed by 10% and another by 15% ) then you can stack those.

The penalty for dying, is giving the oponent gold and exp. And while you are dead, you lose valuable time that you could be using for killing stuff...hence, you lose on that gold and exp.

you can buy for exemple two differents boots but not twice the same.

Do not disregard the penalty for dying: your opponent gains a lot of gold, and the time lost make you also lose a lot of xp

What, then ,do the "Reduced death penalty" citadel upgrades do? Also, would the minion upgrade skills boost the summoned units (like Setna's yetis) or just the "generic" minions (minotaurs, etc)

They reduce your death penalty. ^_^

(the amount of time you stay dead)

That doesn't sound like it's worth the cost.

What about the second question?

I'd have to say no. That upgrade is only for the reinforcements that spawn from portals, which are different from the minions a general summons. There are, however, certain items that can increase your minion's stats in addition to your own.

I'm referring to the upgrade.

I'm sure other generals have it too, but Setna has a set of skills that boost the power of her minions. Does that apply to the minions she has to buy idols for AND the yetis, or just the former?

skills in your skill tree that enhance minions only enhance your minions (those that comes from spells and also the idols ones)

what you buy in the citadel only affects the renforcements coming from portals.

Both can be worth their costs.

Hmm I recently concluded form reading demigoddb.com that minion boosting items apply only to DGs minions. That would make those items especially good for Generals, and the other items especially good for Assassins.

I never buy -death penalty upgrades. Just running away at the right time will suffice. Sometimes I die anyway because I get stunned or jumped by 2 DGs but that's the way life is.

Demonic Spoon:

To clarify what was posted above, citadel unit upgrades only affect the units that come out of the portals. Items and skills that give minion stats affect both units you summon through Idols and units you summon through spells (Oak's spirits, Sedna's yetis, etc.)

For the most part, if you are gonna go heavy on minion boosting gear and skills, you want to make good use of idols as well as your personal summons to maximize the benefit.
