....What?

What are you complaining about, exactly?  And what does Dota have to do with this?

A very informative and well thought out post.

Apparently, this community is becoming like that of DotA because people keep telling him to throw mines at other people.  And he dies sometimes.

But that's expected when there are no people to lay mines.

Heh I'm thinking he was ticked off and the anger had overtaken his mind.

Use the force, stryker, don't give in to the hatred of the dark side!

To the OP: I think what your team was telling you was that you should use mines against enemy demigods - not against creeps.  This is a very valid point.  Try putting mines on flags and planning a gank after they hit the mines.  I don't know what athe other part of your post means.

yes and i was doing this but i had and kept full mana without usen pots. So i use mines on creeps to kill them much faster. as long as i can still help when a DG gets there i do not see the problem.

I aint gona run in when there are 2 or 3 DGs to just lay mines and get kilt cause i ran into the DGs usen the mines as gernades.

As i staed in any given game i die 1 to 2 times and most of them come end game

Some people are sore losers and will take it out on you.

You can:

1) Call them dirty names and make fun of them.

2) Threaten the lives of their family, friends, and/or pets.

3) Mute them.

Oh wait, you can't 3. I guess you'll have to go with 1 or 2.

I keep coming back here.  This post gets funnier and funnier each time..  like the rap chop!...

I'm not talking about ESL either..  the whole thought process is back and forth.

I am going with: you play Regulus and choose to lay mines to kill creeps but then get some flak from a teammate because you aren't saving your mines for enemy DG's (?).  Apparently you don't want to run into a group of DG's for fear of death.

I can't say that I blame you friend.  Suicide runs to get a kill where you also die are less than worth it.  Also - staying alive and gaining xp in the early levels >  risky enemy DG kills (unless it's a sure thing).

I don't know that this specific example exemplifies DotAism, or what some would call elitism, but I have never played DotA.
I am ok with people remaining quiet during a match or even providing constructive feedback.  The people that I have difficulty with are the ones who make random negative comments with no semblence of constructive thought in them.  In some strange way - I know what you are saying.

In an admittedly unconstructive yet humorous way I'll give this advice:  use the private message function in the lobby to ask people if they are willing to lay mines.  If they are - you're good!

problem was we where not gona lose the otherside at the beginning of the game lost a guy. I wanted to remake the game they did not so i stayed. Guy kept trying to tell me how to play not even consideren maybe he has the xtra mana to blow anyways.

the point in playen a rag is hit and run. keep distance between you and the other players. I do not use mines as gernades unless i can do it safely. That means if there are 2 DGs i aint gona run into them just to use the mines as gernaes and get health loss with a high risk no reward encounter.

The guys got a point, if he is holding a lane, then lay mines on those creeps. Thats one of the points of the skill. AOE damage for fast levelling. The wave is cleared and you can push with your wave onto a tower.

If a DG comes back off and wait for mines to refresh, you have already taken out the wave so you have full xp and gold.

Running in to lay mines on 2-3DGs as Reg is pretty dam stupid, unless you have backup, even a hint of focus fire will get you creamed.

Also, you have to be pretty dam stupid to run straight at a Reg camping a flag, as you should know he will have mined the flag to shit. So people who get "ganked" by a flag camping Regulus really need to learn a little bit more.

Being told off for doing it is pretty annoying, altho the relation to Dota I don't know :p

what hes telling you is:

stop telling people how to play unless its obvious they are just mashing their face against the keyboard.

Nothing drives away the customer base like the "Im the shizz" guys..

smaller customer base means no more fixes..

So, hes suggesting that.. since pantheon is really just a lot of practice.. folks should calm down... mellow out.. etc

probably not a bad idea

I would say the issue would improve if the game would load more than 2 v 2 games.. If its 4 v 4, I dont mind so much if one teammate isnt great.. or if the computer takes over a quitter toon.

You and that si1foo-person should have a conversation. I wonder if you would understand each other perfectly or not at all.
