WinCustomize Update - May 8th

I hadn't noticed but thanks anyway.

I think we all should say thanks to the folks who make things work! 

I want to know who it is that is going around breaking things in the first place....;)

If it ain't broke it won't need fixing....;)

  I also noticed daily download totals are working again. Many thanks T-Man, Dean, and everyone else who fixed the bugs.

 To all the people at Stardock and Wincustomize who make things work as they should, I say..........could ya please go give Microsoft some help?

All I know is, It wasn't me...it may have been PDJ! He was bad about breaking things!    

I'm really curious.  The completely NEW Wincustomize was going to be done by the end of March.  Then due to time constraints working on DemiGod things were extended until the game was finished and released.  May was then given as the next completion date for Wincustomize,  DemiGod was finished and released in May yet here it is mid-June and none of the major changes are done let alone many of the old broken features being fixed.  Many, if not most of us have sorely missed the comments section on our personal sites for example.

Many of us purchased additional subscriptions to aid in the drive.  The fact that it was not as successful as desired is a disappointment to all of the WC regulars as we know it was to Stardock, but had I been asked to buy additional subs by any other site, I would never have done so.  It's a matter of trust.  My trust however begins to wane after numerous completion times are not met.  Please just give us some hope.

The issues with Demigod post-launch took people off WinCustomize, which stopped development.  It's back on but there is no time line I'm putting out.  We don't want to launch WC before it's ready, and we want it to be as feature complete as possible.

Thanks for the response ID albeit not what I had hoped to hear.  The above preview looks promising though.

I'm not sure what exactly you want to hear.  I don't give dates for launch because if they cannot be met for whatever reason, then people might misrepresent going forward.  For the current site, things like personal page comments will not be coming back. 

I understand about giving out dates ID, something will always happen that causes them not to be met.  We are such an impatient group of folks, well I now I am.

I wonder if at this time you can lay out for us what things won't be going forward from the 'old' site and what 'new' things we may be seeing. 

It would be asking alot I know, and you may not be at that point yet, but if you could post more screen shots of what the finished site will look like.  That would probably keep us all happy until the release.

That's a shame. I assume that it was too much trouble to edit out the offending comments.

Will the new site have a personal page comment section or is that going to be a thing of the past?

I don't want to put words in anyones mouth but perhaps what we/they/he/she wanted to hear was that subscriptions would be extended for those that purchased during the subscription drive.
