Any ETA on the proxies?

It's still a hassle for me to get into a game, and I imagine a lot of other people are experiencing the same problems.

So just wondering, if you guys (Stardock) has an ETA of when the proxy servers will be up and running?

I talked to the team about this issue today. While the proxies are up, it will take us a few days to test to make sure they work (we don't want to unleash them only to find that things go haywire when you get 20,000 people using them at once).  So it's looking to me more and more that it will be next week before the general population can use them.

In the meantime, if you are having problmes connecting, people have had pretty good luck with Game Ranger.

Yeah need a lot more Legit players on Gamerangers cause right now I'm thinking of downloading the cracked version to play..So few 0.93 games and so many 0.91 :(

Thanks for your reply, though I had hoped they would be ready for the weekend.

Think I'll check this GameRanger out finally then, it's better than nothing :)

 

Btw Brad, that issue about DSL connections in europe, is that getting solved along with the proxy servers, or are these two completely different issues?

You might want to consider a number in the 120,000 range. Taking down your servers a 2nd time is going to be seen as a challenge by certain undesireable elements. They will most certainly attempt to do so as soon as the new system comes online.

There are only about 20,000 legit users playing online.   The game hasn't sold more than 100,000 copies yet, which usually takes 3 weeks like Sins of a solar empire.   120k number was from pirates and pirates won't effect the proxies servers.

I would play on game ranger, but there is always just one guy in a room I can't seem to connect to. It happens all the time and I am the one usually kicked so they can play. I have played one successful game online and that was with the cracked version on game ranger. I have yet to play my legit copy online.
