Okay, here's what you do for this game: You have to "ban" the person who posted above you for an outrageous, silly, or funny reason. Got it?

I never assumed that they had "social issues" in a clinical sense. Internalizing oppressive mindsets is a common social/psychological behavior like cognitive dissonance or memory fabrication that a great number of people will do if confronted with a certain (usually not at all traumatic) situation, not a diagnosable pathology.

Yes and no. While on a certain level I think anyone who dresses like that has to be nuts (not to mention their giggling sounds like the manic laughter of a guy with a gun in a public place), the sort of behavior I'm talking about is really more social/societal than purely psychological- an illness of society as opposed to an illness of the mind. My basic point (in clearer, but somewhat stronger terms) is that these girls have had their initiative and aggression beaten down so thoroughly by American society's rather restrictive gender system that they repress those behaviors and wind up stupid, shallow, naive, and childlike. Now, the important thing is that I used this phenomenon more as an example- I was not trying to say that all cheerleaders are products of this system, but that they usually act like they are, and I find that behavior quite repulsive.

Banned for this time you said something. However, I would like to say something. In terms of hating them wearing skimpy clothes i can understand that. However, to look down on them for being happy doing what they do is something I never understood about people. People always say arrggh sexist this and society that, but in my mind it comes down to the individual. If some one has fun doing cheerleading and is naturally giggly(ie is not acting that) I respect it(especially becuase it takes time and dedication to do those things.)

So to break the most ridiculous things you said into points

1)Stupid; not all of us can be schloars I rather they cheerlead than they work at the powerplant

2) shallow; depth is something I try not look for in others, cause all it causes is what i can call the barrel of water phenomena. whereby when looking directly over a barrel you can never tell how deep it is.

3)same as depth, how do you judge it?

2. If cheerleaders' costumes seem crazy to you, then what about Halloween costumes? Do these people who dress up in Halloween should be immediately transferred to a psychiatric hospital then?? >_> .....

Society has a lot worse things than a slight gender oppression, if there is one.

Our society is so corrupt, that these petty things, that make girls wanna seem cute, sexy, innocent, or whatever else, are non-significant.

1. Like Altaux said, these girls like cheerleading, and nobody forced them to do this at school. The reasons why some girls cheerlead at school, vary (some do it for the guys, wanting to look sexy), but they have their own reasons, which usually are personal desires, not having much to do with society.

2. Like Draak said, your claims are more of assumptions, than actual facts. Also, I see a lot of personal dislike for cheerleaders here, than society crap.

3. You obviously hate the Japanese schoolgirl effect on this subject. Since you might not be familiar with it, I'm gonna explain just to be sure:

Japanese schoolgirls, usually have an innocent look in their eyes, blinking in a cute kinda way, giggling A LOT when talking to each other, and generally...being Japanese. I cant explain it very well, but there are tons of youtube vids, featuring various Jap girls, staring at a camera for several minutes, not doing or saying anything. I'm sure at least some of you know what I'm talking about.

4. RE: Stupid: They seem stupid to you? Hmmm....I am gonna ask, HOW?? >_> Did they take an IQ test and scored very low? Do they study really hard at school, but still failing to understand a single thing in every subject? Are they retarded? How exactly are they stupid?

5. RE: Shallow: There's not much to say here. Alt said it. Looking directly over a barel, you can never tell exactly how deep it is. Nuf said :typo:

6. RE: Naive: A very wierd claim, since Naivety has many many forms. Explain better, and backup your claims.

7. RE: Childlike: This, has to be (again) the Japanese schoolgirl effect. Looking all innocent and cute, giggling a lot, basically being like a baby. Duh, thats why guys call them babes :P Most people find it, cute and/or sexy.

Again, backup all your claims, because all I see right now, is personal opinion.

I said I found those characteristics displeasing in people I spend a lot of time around. It's more "I can tell when they're superficial because they rub me the wrong way" as opposed to "I decide that they rub me the wrong way because I think they're superficial".

EDIT: I've realized that "rub me the wrong way" could be taken.... badly considering the subject matter.

Regarding the cheerleader/societal conditioning issue, there is pressure to conform to norms; this is not avoidable. I, personally, feel that those norms should not include sexual repression. Yes, the modern concept of cheerleaders is based strongly on indirect expression of sexuality. There are other factors, but the 'ditzy' sterotype comes from the concept of "women are passive actors in sexual matters" combined with the concept of "men have a significantly higher sex drive than women." Those concepts are societally based, not biologically.

Oh, a person who can actually make some sense, and speak common English. Finally! |-)

Yes, that is true, but only because we make it so. If there wasnt such corruption in our society, then this wouldnt happen. This is only a result of many different sources, which I am not going tom list atm.

Do you have any idea how many actual pervs are out there? And I am not talking about being a little "kinky", or whatever. I'm talking about sexual perversion.

My point is, that basically you're right, there is such a concept driven by our society, but you are only scratching the surface of 15-inch steel wall here -_-

There are a lot worse things than that. This is really insignificant comparing to other, more important matters.
