Impulse Confusion and Frustration

Hi all - Please would you be able to explain to me what Impulse is?

Is it supposed to replace Stardock Central?

If so, what are the benefits of this software over SD Central?

I am finding the registration and download in Impulse a complete nightmare: I have multiple subsciriptions / licences with Stardock for misc. products. I have so far spent over 2 hours on trying to get my software correctly installed on a rebuilt machine.I am nowhere near completion.

I work in IT and consider myself a very experienced techie. If I have these types of problems, I don't even want to consider what non-techies are experiencing... Right now I am thinking "Why did I BUY this software - I could have installed a cracked (free) version in no time, and with none of this hassle..."

Any comments or helpful advice appreciated from others who have also had massive re-installation problems!

Obviously not in the know here but I think that is the intention. I've stayed away from Impulse so far and will make the decision to download or leave WC when I come to that fork in the road.

I do know this though that you need flash for Impulse to work properly and then it only works with version =<9.0. There appear to be some issues with flash version 10.0 and Impulse???

if you could explain in a little more detail the problems you are having it would make it easier for someone to offer assistance.

Yes Impulse is the replacement for Stardock Central.  It is an explanded download tool from what SDC was

Having multiple subscriptions might be causing the problem or confusion.

I have multiple subsciriptions / licences with Stardock for misc. products.

Are they under different email accounts or are they all under your Stardock.net email account. When installing Impulse and registering it with Stardock.net acoount all purchases under that account show be there. If under multiple accounts, click help icon, upper right, Register a product, at bottom of registrations page click Add registration, find app you want to register, put in serial and email it was purchsed under.

If they are under different emails, email sales@stardock.com with all emails and ask them to put them under your Stardock.net email account.

I find this a little strange from someone in IT, cracked version can and most due cause issues that sometimes can only be fixed by a format and OS reinstall.

A cracked version won't make it any easier for you to learn how to use.

One tip - if you have Object desktop, you only need to register IT... not each individual product.

I recommend you disable anti-spyware/anti-virus while installing any software via Impulse........since it installs software from the web some of these programs (like Windows Defender) will block the scripts. Remember to re-enable after rebooting.

Ain't that the truth. And the cracked versions of Windowblinds are known to cause all sorts of hassle. Not to mention even more difficult to update...plus it's a mighty good way of being shown the door. :ninja:

You should e-mail us at support@stardock.com and merge your accounts, this is most likely your trouble.
