Can't See a Difference between "Crippling" & "Masocistic" Difficulty Levels

In the latest version of ToA (2.02, I believe), what's the difference between "crippling" and "masocistic" difficulty levels?

I can't see any difference when setting up a game; they both give the A.I. the following bonuses:

- 120% tax income

- +50% natural abilities

- max CPU usage

I want to play on one of these two difficulty levels, but I can't tell the difference between the two.

What are the differences? Thanks in advance

hum... don't know where you derived your numbers from but here's the details of what I know : https://www.galciv.wikia.com/wiki/Difficulty

as you can see in the notes, there's a lot of unknown...

but in any case, even if it's not seen in the numbers available, it should really be a lot harder if you read the values there

I got these numbers from the A.I. personality tab while setting up a game

ho nice one, never thought about checking that out ^_^

anyway there's more to difficulty than these numbers, even if you start a game with cheats to see your opponents stats right from the beginning, some things are still hidden. In any case the wiki should give you a clue on the overall difficulty change between modes, if you're still lost, then may I suggest to just experience the game ;)

Hi!

If you'd play the game just one game year you would notice te difference. Unfortunately "base" bonuses AIs get above Tough arent's visible in racial abilities. But you can see their effects if you check AI's planet with a spy. Please not the planet's stats you see with a spy are max possible, not real ones, bound to slider settings. So if you see they get from their Capital and two labs 100 TPs, you're in a maso game. ;-)
