What's your custom race name?

The title says it all, I'm curious what names people come up with.

Lately I've been using "Tritan Empire." I don't know why or where it came from, if anywhere, but I think it sounds cool. :P

We are the mighty Teabags, hailing from the planet Liptonite.

(!!)

Zyxon -- almost always starting with a loaded system of five planets with some personal textures;

1-ZYX_A = PQ28

2-ZYX_B = PQ32

3-ZYX_C = PQ20

4-ZYX_D = PQ18

5-ZYX_E = PQ25 (This one normally receives an extreme status like Barren or Aquatic when necessary)

... but, all of this strange boost is for Modding purposes and the extensive testing work done in a **lot** of fast games - in cheat mode and with specific gameplay goals.

Plus, a huge number of variations with Political Parties (again, customized), tech trees (mostly X-Worlds stuff) and other areas.

Otherwise, in any other regular games - i trust the incode random functions to be kind enough for a "good" challenge for the Zyxon or its colorful twin the Zyxonium!

I'm sure your soldiers are trained in all sorts of military tactics including the fear-striking teabagging blitz! :grin:

Hello:

The name of my custom race is the Draconians, a warrior race of evil lizard men created in the Dragonlance series of novels.

I have a race I'm working on right now for a mod, which goes by the name of the Ashevan Commonwealth, and their homeworld's name is Iyto.

They're an intelligent but xenophobic race which only recently emerged from hiding.

lol...thats awesome, I think they've actually taken over my own state government in real life. I have a few myself, including an "Outer Rim Territories" group that hail from the planet Formis, in honour of that champion of generosity. Damn what happened to that guy? He was best thing that ever happened to GC2 outside of Stardock themselves. He just dropped his bomb of awesome and left.

Anyway, I have kept with the theme of the game by adding some collective name after the civ name like : Union, Imperitive, Agenda, Consortium etc...

Realm is a good one Ohtori, I might have to use that next.

Pax Consortium... also my nick in Sins Of a Solar Empire, been using this name over 10 years easily for these type of games.

The Psilon, of obvious lineage;

Unimatrix001, a Yor/borg rip . . . er spinoff

The Gigum (From Star thugs: Well worth the price just for the manual if you ever get the chance.) They breed. A lot.

And of course, those terrifying monsters before whom the galaxy trembles . . . the SPEMIN!!!!! (No points in any advantage, no techs researched, no special abilities, and I *HAVE* to give in to any threat made to me. If I didn't do the last part, they wouldn't be Spemin - {G})

I missed the initial reference, but the link and picture refreshed my memory of them in Star Flight.  One of my most favorite games of all time.  It always amazes me that more people don't know about its awesomeness.

That really was an awesome game. I spent many an hour on it! It'd be great to get an update to it!

The Techno Union of the planet ToniStark, lead by Archon Ziff.

The Podlings - remember that ethical event where there are those pods that make your people smarter but cause them pain.  This is if those pods took over.  They had a huge advantage to research, but (using a text editor, which made them illegal for Metaverse play) a severe NEGATIVE bonus to their reproduction rate.
