Why not a shandy foam?

Not too good... in fact no damned good at all.  I still have a shandy or 3 now and then for the taste [never liked sweet soft drink (soda) much], but I've been sober going on 11 years now.... and have never been happier/better off.

Never cared for the taste whether its beer, liquor or such like. Maybe back in the day when I was knee high to nuthin'. But nowadays.....nah.....no fun in that.

So......what was the question...again?

Seriously though just for a moment. Growing up with an alcoholic father and a mean-spirited ex-brother-in-law you kinda shy away from what made them that way. I made a promise to myself to never ever make that mistake. I smoked wacky weed instead. No hangovers or headaches. Just a few burnt brain cells but...I still manage to keep it real. Rarely if ever do I smoke and that only when offered. Though few and far between, fortunately, shaking up the ole gray matter doesn't hurt. But then again I managed what too many others didn't have the presence of mind to do and that is not let it become a habit. Its one of those take it or leave it type things. Besides....dontcha think I are nuts enough?

You... NUTS?  Wasn't it a little more serious than that... like completely bonkers or something?

Seriously, though, more power to you for keeping a handle on things and not allowing a past-time to become a habit/addiction.  

I've seen people lose the plot on waccy weed as well... and screw up everything important to them just as though it were alcohol... so sad.

Very sad. Some of the stuff I've seen back in the day scared the hell out of me. Viet Nam was happening all over the place. Protests everywhere. Riots in our schools the day Martin Luther King was shot. Crazy! All that and seeing your best friend OD in a bathroom in school. No thank you very much.

All that's in the past and dontcha think its better off there and not here? Not that 'here' here is much better but it isn't there. lol

Sometimes, though, it's good to know where we've been so we can learn from our mistakes and better know where we're going.

I mean, would I be here and that little bit wiser if not for the many cock-ups and learning from my boo-boos?
