I play single player hard only as TEC, I've never seen the ai build a superweapon. So will the ai build starbases in the new expansion? I guess the developer only knows, but does anyone have an idea and what's your experiences with the AI and superweapons?
I don't think anyone (Besides Ironclad/Stardock people.) will be able to tell you about the AI building starbases. Also I have never seen a Computer player build a superweapon but maby that is because I have neve gon above easy.

I Have yet to see one myself and I play exclusively on Hard or Unfair, sure they are money hogs and seem to have a bottemless pit of money but they never build super weapons. If they did, you would not be able to live lol. Think about it this way - they slowly get the technology tree filled and cherry pick the techs they want. An unfair TEC AI would mass produce the Nova on some of their new planets but since they like to build defense towers and so forth I doubt they woud have the space.
When u get the game, give the unfair game a chance and see if they do because as of right now, their is nothing any of us know 
I have seen a Vasari AI build its super weapon once. They built it near a front line world. For what ever the reason was the only planet it fired on was my dead asteroid. I killed it before it got another chance to fire.
Try putting the computer on "Researcher" and see if it builds a superweapon.
I've had hard Vasari on researcher build a super weapon, albeit they never fired it.

Like I said I have seen them build it once and fire it once. I have not seen any of the other races build one. I think all the money is spent on the last moment lvl 1 capital ship with 5 light frigets that is going to magicly destory your entire fleet.....
Yes, they will be build starbases and it will be much more common than the superweapons. If I have time, I'll see what's bugged with their frequency of building of superweapons too

Eeek, be careful! My wrists were pretty bad during the major coding sessions on Sins. Massage therapy helped a lot!
Even just today I went for a neck and shoulder massage session due to the extra hours Entrenchment is demanding

Yeah, it would be nice to see them build them more often, but I won't want them to spam them either.
