Buying Twilight of the Arnor

Is it possible to buy TotA with PayByCash somewhere? Stardock's shop seems to only accept credit cards and PayPal.

Well, TotA is anly available at the Stardock Store. But you can always contact sales@stardock.com to see what kind of alternate payment you can use.

Well, call me an old fashioned idiot but I've lost some respect for Stardock because TotA will not be available in stores. For me it takes a lot of the mystique away from the purchase. After seeing this post I can only say that I will NOT be purchasing the final expansion. My heart is broken. My three friends who also are fond of the previous installments feel the same way.

Um, Dark Avatar wasn't available standalone in the stores either. You had to buy GalCiv2 Gold. So it was highly unlikely that this new expansion would be available either. Shelf space is difficult to purchase, and with a niche product like this, it's hard to get stores to agree.

So perhaps you might want to place a bit of blame that way before accusing Stardock, because I suspect if there was a good and cost effective way to put this on the shelf, they would've.

If StarDock has shelf space for the Gold version. They should re-release
it as a Platinum version including the 2 add-ons ...

They should offer it at the StarDock as a CD offer without the digital
download too.

You can get it directly from Stardock on CD. You just get the option to download it if you so choose. If you don't want to, don't. Try to be patient and wait for it to show up in the mail. :)

Perhaps in the future they will release a box version that combines all three, but I imagine it has to be economically feasible for them to do so. Remember, Stardock is a small publisher and developer. Sadly, although it would be great if it happened, it isn't always cost effective for them to package these things and put them in major retail chains.

Making a retail box and getting it on shelves is a huge expense, and requires marketing and set deadlines in order to make (some of) that back. And each expansion of a game typically makes less than the one before it. Skipping retail means being able to deliver a beefy expansion where not doing so would mean delivering much less, or not being able to do one at all.

So why is Stardock charging retail box shipping if there is no retail box? I only paid five dollars for shipping on Dark Avatar.
