Before the Expansion, can we fixed all the problems first.

dev. please read

I really like that there is a expansion coming out, and I see a lot of good ideals for the expansion, but before we can add new ships and other things, we need to first fix some of the other problems in the game.

1. Some of the abilities need to be fixed, like the Jam weapons for the Kortul Devastor and Flak burst for the Kol battleship. There are also other useless abilities that need to be fixed.

2. Culture in the game feels a little weak in the game. It can only be used on the defense, and does not show up effecting any thing in the info cards. Also It is so very very easy to counter with very little resources put into it.

3. Fighter and bomber problem: The carriers do not seem to fit into a balance fleet well, and almost have to be spamed, in order for them to be useful. There were all ready 4 post a least on this problem.

In the end, I would just like these fixed, before the expansion, or by new thing that are put in, before we ask for weapons on planets or new class of ships, or any thing else that is new.

Is it to much to ask, to fix what we have, before asking for more?

I wouldn't worry about it man. from what i have heard, there will be at least one, maybe 2 updates, 1.04 and 1.1 before any expansion. besides, these really are minor. at least there isnt horrible crash problems behind every planet or corner of the galaxy. Sins has been admirably stable since its birth.

although i do agree with your statements. i won't deny that. i just trust that good ol' Ironclad will iron out these problems before unleashing an expansion. they, along with stardock, have been an amazing pair of companies that knows no bounds in customer satisfaction. never fear.

I second the sentiment.

I expect the game will be quite close to bug free and balanced by the time the expansion hits.

Since they plan to drop all support for this game and put all efforts into an expansion.

You *are* jaded, Windexglow.
Anyway, even if they do try that one, the Devs have still promised us v1.04 and v1.1. So they're not getting out of it completely! ;)

dont rly care what happens

all i wanna see is 1.04 and 1.1 being here b4 theyre starting on that expansion

they can make it last 4 years.. or just a month.... as long as it comes out good.. im happy (campaign FTW...)

thats a stretch, lol. but i second the notion for the mod tools. that would produce even more cool stuff. but regardless, i think it is settled that everything will be okay. i HIGHLY doubt that they will drop support for the game. Stardock and Ironclad have been absolutely heavenly lately with the patches, and i cant imagine them taking a step towards ignoring us.

Are they broken, ie. don't work as described? Then yes, they need a fix.

But if you're just complaining about them being underpowered/"useless", they don't need a fix, but need to be balanced.

Fix=!Balance

Pet peeve of mine. ;)

Did anyone say, that they won't look into balance in upcoming patches? ;)

Does Windexglow the forumite count?

Yeah, I didn't think so either...

OK, I'm not sure what your saying here. Cultures primary bonus is the ability is increasing your planets allegiance by 10%, netting you 10% more "income" (relative to base 100% allegiance, not planets distance based allegiance cap...). Which is to say, your home world produces 110% nominal, planets one jump away go from 90->100, and on the fringes of your empire, 35% becomes 45%.

It also has a powerful secondary ability depending on race and research, giving either increased shield mitigation, anti matter regen, or damage output. And just to add insult to injury, if you can keep an enemy planet under your influence for long enough (its doable, I've done it in the current version) you can cause it to decolonize, and be uncolonizable untill they drive your culture back somehow!

3. Fighter and bomber problem: The carriers do not seem to fit into a balance fleet well, and almost have to be spamed, in order for them to be useful. There were all ready 4 post a least on this problem.

1.04 is working to try and improve that already... that said, I've always found carriers a powerful and useful part of my fleet, if only because most people really skimp on flak. And even when they don't forget, in the late game its easy to mow down flak with your kodiaks, leaving the enemy naked against your carrier forces. With fighters wiping LRMs and support cruisers, and bombers doing a number on the HCs, life is good.

I actually think he was being sarcastic in his post, which I'd actually support since it's pretty propostrous to assume that an announcement for the expansion means all support for the game is automatically cut off :P

That whole exchange was hilarious, if I might say.

Just as long as evey thing is fixed, I don't wish for the problems in this game, in the next one.

Also for Ron Lugge, I'm not saying, that the bouns for culture are weak, but they need to show put in the infon card, just like abilities do. Also we need, so that 2 culture broadcasting center can not just stop 7 on the other end. When was the last time, that your culture turned over a planet, or gave you a bouns when fighting your enemys, in there own systems.

My other gaming friends have become totaly jaded over the past 10 years (don't ever mention MOO3, HoMM5, and others to them). They don't buy ANYTHING until they read a lot of reviews, play a demo, and THEN, one of us volunteers to buy it, and be the "guiney pig". I was the GP for Sins, and I've reported to them (for the first time in years) a great game, AND, great support  :CONGRAT:

One thing I hope they don't attempt to 'fix' is the RA its an uncommon tactic and if you take a look most people who whine about it are new players with no technique yet thus no idea how to counter it.

Edit: Also if you let another player even get that far and he skips researching it you are already dead due to the fact hes going to have a very strong economy.

Um, Bupp9, its not all that uncommon a tactic, and once researched its pretty much an instant win as is.

I ment uncommon in comparison to other games Ron your taking what I've said out of context.

Taking it out of context would be quoting one small part that needed the rest to make sense. Your post didnt' include that it was uncommon in the sense that most games don't have such a think, so there was no way for me to pull it "out of context"... only fail to grasp the context you intended, (and IMO failed) to provide.
