please fix team placement script - worse then TEK for ruining games

I know a lot are complaining about trade/TEK but I find way more MP games ruined by the completely assinine player placement scripts on team MP games.  About 1/2 the games I play are immediately abandoned since the placement will do things like stick one player right between two enemies homeworld and then place his allies across the entire map.

The script does not seem to pay any attention to teams or map or anything.  For example, tonight on a 4v4 huge random multi star map it placed 2 players from each team together in two of the four star systems.  Basically leaving half the map empty and making the game effectively a med map 2v2.  Another game, 2v2 on razer's edge place me at one of the homewords in the north and my poor ally at the far south center homeworld with enemy on both sides one jump away - idiotic.  Over and over the maps just place people at random usually leaving one guy ripe for an early gank and nothing his allies can do but hope one the enemy is just as hosed by the placement.

This has been going on for along time, since early beta. Doubt much will change, the devs say this is to ensure that teams can't be stacked easily and to ensure that combat breaks out quickly in a game.

They can easily ensure those things without making one player SOL, which will then leave their teammate SOL later on in the game. Either turn it into 2 early game 1v1s, where you work to meet your teammate, or put all players relatively close together, but not in a precarious position for early defeat.

I know that a much used strategy in all team games is to gang up on one player first to take him out, but actually scripting the game to PUT one player into that situation is just wrong.

@Advalary That's just ridiculous. I don't see how fucked up positions prevent stacking, and some people don't like combat to break out right in the beginning of the game.
There should be a starmap with positions that can be chosen by host or player or both.

My opinion? There are multiple ways to fix this.

1) Add in a gameplay option to specify how teams are spread out.
1.1) Teams within same solar system.
1.2) Teams within same planet ring.
1.3) Teams within same planet group.
1.4) Teams within different solar system.
1.5) Teams within different planet rings.
1.6) Teams within different planet groups.
1.7) All players within the same solar system.
1.8) All players within the same planet ring.
1.9) All players within the same planet group(If possible).
1.10) All players within different solar systems.
1.11) All players within different planet rings.
1.12) All players within different planet groups.
1.13) All players spread out equal phase lane distance from one another.

2) Add in a map file option that allows for specifying WHERE each player starts within the map, as in, which solar system, ring or planet group.

3) ??? Unfortunately, my mind is pretty much degraded now, I can not think of any other ideas. Any suggestions?
