Thanks, Stardock

Thanks Stardock, your software is wonderful. I got my computer back about a week ago, and it ran perfectly. I decided to install all of the Object Desktop programs so my computer could look better. All the software is so wonderful, especially because it added about 6 minutes to the startup time. In addition to that, it added a very unique feature to all of my games. Instead of letting me play Halo for as long as I wanted, it limited my time by making my computer crash after about 3 minutes of play. This was so pleasant; I just love the blue screen of death! I love it so much that I have a T-Shirt with the BSOD on it! I just love that! I uninstalled all my Stardock software to see if it would remove this feature, but lucky me, I still get the BSOD! And startup still takes about 6 minutes longer than usual! I am so delighted with this that I can't even put it into words! How I love your software! Thanks Stardock! (For screwing up my machine! Grrr...)

Uninstall everything . . reinstall one app at a time to see where the problem is.  Your experience is atypical.
You might want to uninstall the sarcasm app first . . I'll bet your response time will improve.  :)

Did you try adding Halo's exe to the excluded list in WB Per Application settings? Also, do you defragment your hard disk(s) often?
Why yes, I do defrag my disk about once a month. And I uninstalled WindowBlinds, so I can't do the other option.

What other programs if any did you load up besides stardock stuff?

A lot of times a firewall program does the BSOD or a anti virus program. Zone Alarm kills my Computer.

Just trying to narrow it down to the Program thats giving you the BSOD.

This is a thread I should probably avoid....but

SparkyMonololak- Instead of writing a bunch of crap, what say you just read the BSOD and it will tell you what the error is. This isn't rocket science. If you really want to thank someone for screwing up your computer, go find a mirror.

I know what ya mean Yrag. I've been using Stardock apps for about 4 years now. I play Halo or Graw2 about 4 times a week and I never ever see a bsod. Why is it everyone is so fast to say its something to do with WindowBlinds or any other app Stardock sells?

another "it's someone else's fault" thread. gotta love that.

Every time when I see the negative posts about Object Desktop or any other Stardock products I understand that people which post them are know nothing about Computer architecture and Operating Systems.

Who is guilty in it? Certainly Stadock!  :(  HA-HA-HA!  :)

During a years I have used Stardock software in Windows XP I found a several minor bugs. A bit more on Vindows Vista... But this is not only because the Object Desktop is not ready for Vista. This is because Vista is not ready for us!!!!!

"dear (citizen)sparkymonololak",

Be clever and cease to write the similar bosh! Just go here: WWW Link, Buy, Download and Install TuneUp Utilities 2008 and you will never see BSOD on your PC.  :d

From 'repair' perhaps ? Maybe You should ask for a refund from the repairer then. I've seen PCs doing weird things coming back from so called repairs or nice 'computer specialist' friends. Just a WILD guess though.

It may be remotely possible that an install of a Stardock App caused you some issues...through a 'bad' install, but generally speaking you won't have issues [games to BSOD] with Windowblinds when installed correctly.  My machine has 82 games and demos currently installed....and all work just fine...;)

Things go better with a purchase of the full version of the software. Seems you are not listed as a current customer. If you are serious about getting the best looking system and having the best peformance; I would do that.
But if you want to just rag - on about how so and so messed everything up for you. Then I believe this is not true.
Your trolling here I think!!!

Please contact support@stardock.com

Thank you

He would get little support from us, as he is not a paying customer at all. Try not using pirated software next time.

Thanks (Pirate) SparkyMonololak for stealing other people's work and then complaining about it in the forums that they offer.

Asshat!  :(

Everyone else who tried to help . . thanks.  Good work as always.

(ShelbyGT - it was possible that the pirate hadn't associated their email with WC and wouldn't show as a current customer.  It's a good clue, but not a fact.  Thank goodness for Highlander  :) )

Thank you Zubaz,
My point still is he needs to buy the software and then ask support for the proper instructions to get his problems worked out. We have a lot of people that think by coming here to the forums; their problems are all solved here and not by the experts at Stardock support.
Stardock offers the best support for all their programs. [Trials and purchased!]
It would be fantastic for you to do a interview with these people and show members and would be members just what goes on behind those hollowed doors at Stardock Support!
My opion is "It's the best it has ever been to date!!!" Members do help a lot and such... But I figure the most part is to point the people I see here to support at Stardock. There they will find answers to their problems and get things fixed.
I understand some people hide their email address's - but for the most part as I can see it - I have to take it for face value. If it says they are a visitor - then thats what I see and thats what I relate to the thread in question. Plus as always send them to support so it can be evaulated to see who is who and whats what.
Thanks again and he needs to buy the software and then get the support for it to get things straight.

Hey, I realize the OP was being a bit ugly in his message, but is it not possible that he was in fact using trial versions of the software (WB, et cetera)? Does Stardock have a record of every user who downloads a demo of WindowBlinds? I'm wondering why everyone leaped to the conclusion that the OP is a software pirate.
It's a well known fact that there are many pirated versions of Windowblinds around but very few actually work properly. Recently, I watched four so called 'experienced pirates' on a forum hack Windowblinds 'to death' to try get it to work including some pretty 'iffy' SSID modifications........All to no avail and all they ended up with was a 75 per cent skinned effort. This went on for two weeks.....yep! two weeks. I had to admire their tenacity but all that effort for a twenty buck saving and then they unleash it on the public, some of whom are stupid enough to download and install it. We've seen a lot of these 'crys for help' from people who have downloaded pirated versions and we are going to see a lot more in the future.........

SGT - Good points.
warreni  - OP said he installed all of the ODNT apps, not trial apps.  There are not trial versions of all the apps.  I read that as full versions.
Leo - Does your mom know you are hanging out in those forums?  ;)
