I take the job and title moderator very seriously.  I think that our job is to moderate the extremes by doing as little as possible to the flow of this place.  And to be honest, this is an easy place to moderate.  Deleting posts or locking threads is a sign of failure in my eyes.  That means that the community and moderators failed to control, through dialog, a situation.

I also like to think of WC as a club where folks get together,  In meatspace (opposed to virtual-space) if a member was not allowed to speak and all conversation (no matter how . . off-topic) about that member was restricted it would affect the club adversely. 

If folks here were bashing Raven after he was made silent, it would be a different story.  Picking on me, apparently, is a different story.

I must say that I agree with Fairry on this. It just does not look good.

How about I start a new thread for you guys to carry on the Zubish   I will say it is funny, just needs it's own thread.  

Looks to me like the "Mods" failed here....

They can't all be winners and sometimes we don't have much to work with.

Having said that . . the user in question is at Visitor level by their own request (in fact, they asked to be deleted (Exiled) we chose to take a less drastic response).  As failures go . . it could have been worse.

Raven didn't give the site much of a chance though . . that is his loss and perhaps is ours too.  ::shrugs::  What cna you do?

JD, I'm not sure what your point or goal is.  Raven asked to be removed.  We (mostly) fulfilled his request (but were less  harsh than he asked).  Where's the problem?

Had he been a pleasant, long-standing member of the community the request would have been handled the same way.  His attitude only inclined me to not talk him out of it.

And JD....While that reply may have been civil. I tried to get him to reconsider his choice to leave, even offered him help. He was not receptive at all and even went as far as to block me at DA. And then felt it was necessary to post a screenshot at DA showing his email to Stardock for his removal...He took his ball and went home

I will say .. I would have rather seen the thread take a turn as it did.. rather than evolving in to a Rip roaring flame fest.. This is a testament to the maturity of the site as a whole.. As it turned out, help was offered as well as Decemt opinions on his post, Whoch was rather Ronchy and Abusive. if anything the replys offered here were kind and humane, compared to what he wuld have gotten on some other sites, when acting like a arrogant,bonehead..

Most new members go off to raid the galleries. So few show an instant interest in forum posts. I think his/her actions of jumping right in to participate in the community like that are commendable

i will not fail WC because in the long run everyone wins... and now i will look back on my faults along with ravens, and be like a few of you who have done the same thing when you were new! we all have our opinions but to grow and adapt is what humans do right? i still havent changed my opinion but it only makes me drive myself harder to make something better so i dont have to worry about contacting Po smedley for a losers medal of apreciation! lol
