From the beginning there have been variations of skins/suite types.


1.Private skins. where only one artist or Team like TSF etc make the skin/suite

2. Closed community skins. where a selected group or teams get together and build a skin, while not advertising it to the public til it's release.

3. Open community skins. Where it is advertised to the general public and all who offer up can take part...

4.the envelopment of Master skins in to the "Community skins" has been a new twist on the two "community skin" types. as now there are "Master community skins" (open and closed).


I for one, welcome it. Any thing to bolster the progression of skinners and their crafts, cant be a bad thing

The only inclusion in to Zoombas post could have been the Master Tag, as it is a "Master" community suite. this would have offered up that some elements of the Suite, if not all.. were of the "Master skin" purchase status...

I guess community can mean a lot of things to a lot of people. To me, if folks in the community contribute to a skin, that's a community skin.

Amen Night Train. This whole thread along with a couple others right now is nothing more then lets see who I can piss off and make mad. Issues, this hasn't been about issues at all.   

I ain't buyin it kitty. I had no problems with you at ALL until today... unfortunately for you.. knowing you..Its obvious to me what the thread was about.. and not only me. I won't broadcast it but imo it wasn't about the definition of community. No one goes to these lengths over a definition...period. Especially one that as hairsplitting as this.. but lets say it was about that..really petty.

I know it wasn't and as far as I'm concerned its what I believe that matters.. to me. You burned this bridge and probably a couple more.. I know you'll probably say you don't care or oh well.. thats all well and good.. as long as you understand.. you did.

look, I really have NO input on this subject at all. I'm not a skinner, but I am a customer. If anyone actually took the time to look up the word "community" in the dictionary, this is what they would find....

Even though the general public may not have been asked to submit skins, objects, etc. for Harmony, it was still a community project. It wasn't just MaxStyles (although MaxStyles is a community by definiton). Outsiders were included.

I'm not taking sides. Honestly, I could care less. But some kind a clarification needed to be made. A "community effort" doesn't HAVE to include everyone from the skinning community.....

None of you are promoting the "community" you are arguing about.

ok i just want a little bit of say as well, im sorry came across as harsh or corrosive, i just think that maybe the higher ups of this site should reword some stuff and call it for the actuall stuff involved in any case and what i mean is,its ok if you want to call it a "community" skin but at least spill your spill about what your preferences on how to go about the builing and recruiting for the "community skins or widgets or whatever, take your pic!
