System Tray disappeared

Installed ObjectBar some weeks ago, and one of the great features is the System Tray element. It worked perfectly, and I tried adding and removing various elements, and everything worked. I also updated OB, as new versions became available 2-3 times, and is now using v2.10a.014 (on XP Pro SP2).

But after a few days the System Tray disappeared - leaving an empty space on the bar. I'm not sure if it happened after an update or after I made some configuration changes. I have tried hiding/removing/adding the element, but it won't show. I have also read "Creating an ObjectBar" by Zubaz, and tried the suggestion to install SDMCP, but still no luck. Any suggestions?

Milksama, that link (or the public version) is part of the "Creating an OB Bar" documentation and the user reports that he used it.

If your link is better than mine, let me know so I can have that updated please.

Yes, the SDMCP is running. I also tried to stop OB, kill SDMCP, delete the mcp files in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Stardock, run the mcp_102.exe, reboot the PC, but still no System Tray in OB

Zubaz, the mcp_102.exe is the same as your link is referring to.

have you tried removing the tray in editor mode, then putting a new one back in?

Yes, tried that too. Btw: right-clicking the space where it is supposed to be, shows a popup menu related to the tray, like "Enabling system tray filtering", so it's like the element is there, but just not showing the icons... Is any information about how to display it saved in a file or the registry, so I could try to delete that info?

Take a look in the *.obbar in notepad

Look for  something like:
Code: css
  1. [Section14]
  2. Title=SysTray
  3. Properties.Title.Visible=0
  4. Properties.UseSectionSkinning=1
  5. Properties.iSectionSkin=0
  6. Properties.bCombineSkin=0
  7. Properties.UseTightItemWidthBuffer=0
  8. Properties.MaxmizeItems2=1
  9. Properties.CenterItems=1
  10. Properties.UseDownArrow=0
  11. Properties.ShowUnneededArrows=0
  12. Properties.bAllowShowingOfLeftGrayedArrow=1
  13. Properties.bResizable=1
  14. Properties.MinItems=-1
  15. Properties.MaxItems=-3
  16. Properties.SpacerAfter=0
  17. Properties.MinItemWidth=24
  18. Properties.MaxItemWidth=300
  19. Properties.EqualWidths=1
  20. Properties.AllowMultipleRowsCols=0
  21. Properties.LastWidth=37
  22. Properties.SwapVertArrowStyle=0
  23. Properties.SwapHorzArrowStyle=0
  24. Properties.ShowIconsByDef=1
  25. Properties.ShowTextByDef=1
  26. Properties.StartOfGroup=0
  27. Properties.FullyShowing=1
  28. Properties.ForceValid=1
  29. Properties.Type=Systray
  30. ExpandButtonEnabled=1
  31. BitmapPathRelToSkin=1

Delete that section (after backing up the bar).

Still no luck. Removing the element from the bar also removes that section in the obbar file, so that's apparently not a problem.

I also tried to create a new bar, but the system tray just won't show up

It seems that OB can't get info from the real system tray (that's what sdmcp should do, right?), but as it did work the first few days, I can't see why it should have stopped...

I've had the same trouble. In my case, the System Tray shows as an Active Element on my content list, but nothing from my system tray appears on my ObjectBar. When I go to "Configure Icons," it shows nothing by past icons; it worked in the past, so I'm not sure why it's suddenly stopped sensing the items in my System Tray as currently there. I went ahead and tried the same fixes you all suggested for MoRPheus, but they didn't work for me, either.

I am having the same problem. Upgraded to ObjectBar v2.1 and the SysTray is now gone. Tried everything that was posted here including removing the Program Files\Stardock\Desktop\ObjectDock and re-installed. Still no Sysbar. Any other ideas?
