Hyper Computers

Hi well to be honest I have only used hyper computers like 3 times since gc2 came out. What technology do you need to research in order to get hyper computers. Lol I have beating this game on high difficulties but forgot this little thing. Thanks for understanding that i am an idiot.

Hyper Computers requires Aereon Missile Defense. It's understandable how this connection can be missed.

Huh?

I view Aereon Missile Defense as that big, juicy tech at the top of the PD tech branch, which gives you 3 rewards, all with catchy non-Hyperion names(Aereon Missile Defense, Electro-Magnetic Surge, and Hyper Computers). So it's kind of easy to remember that way.

But seriously, why are there so many things named 'Hyperion'? Hyperion Fleet Defense, Hyperion Shrinker, Hyperion Logistics System. It's just another one of Saturn's many moons.

Because it sounds cool and space-ish.

my sense is it references a corporation on Earth; little sidenotes in some of the flavor text makes me think it's part of Brad's backstory.

heh I thought it was sorta linked to the fact that people usually associate the word "Hyper" to something super-fast...

Hyperion, the Titan in mythology, was often related to the sun and thought of, by some, as the sun itself.

Hyperion, the satellite of Saturn, is rather inconsequential and forgettable.

A super-fast Orbital Fleet Defense building? A super-fast Logistics System? A super-fast... ship-component shrinking-thing?

Hyperdrive, HyperWarp, and Hyper Computers, however, do make sense.

"Hyperion" has been a common name given to a "super ship", a flagship, or possibly a class of very strong battle cruisers, etc in many sci-fi novels, games, and t.v. series. Some examples include the Hyperion class battle cruiser in Babylon 5 and the Hyperion in Starcraft, Raynor's command ship.
