Varying the resource asteroids...

Anyone but me find it far too predictable and silly that every planetary system has a predictably number and type of resource asteroids?

it would be better if sometimes that Ice planet only had 2 crystal, or sometimes it had 4... or perhaps sometimes a lava planet had crystal... or asteroids having less or more resource asteroids of varying types.

Also I could see having 'mega' resource asteroids, that simply have more crystal than others, or won't run out for some time, or that you could build 2 mining bases on... you could have green crystal for example...

Hell you could just make some crystal asteroids not be the same color.

You can still have pre-dispositions, such as ice planets being crystal heavy, but some variety would be nice...

I wish the layout was more random... Maybe give ice planets between 3 and 5 crystal asteroids, and have it vary upon game creation...

More variety is almost always a good thing. This kind of change would be relatively simple and place empahsis on defending some planets more than others due to their larger amounts of resources.

I like it.

They kinda have this already, the utterly random exploration can find crystal and metal income sources.

yeah, more randomness would be nice, as long as it doesnt result in an unfair situation. if you lose simply because out of luck your opponent has more ressources on his planets I would feel quite frustrated.

there will always be unfair situations, by creating more 'randomness' we can steepen the gauss curve, and then the game will become more fair, or at least more likely to be


*note* if you dont know what I'm talking about, flip a coin twice, now flip a coin eight times, in which scenario are you more likely to have all heads/all tails?

That depends, are you flipping a coin or simulating one with a computer program? If it's an rng, odds are the first will be heads and the next seven will be tails.

there should just be a Uber Belt that has a dead asteroid planet and like 8-12 resource asteroids!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(they could be really rare!)

easy enough to mod... I made a pirate homeworld for players with 12 asteroids (to see how many looked Okay) I reduced it to five, I wouldn't go over 7 after that you need to mess with how roids are placed to avoid stupidity.
