Installing WB 6

Hi all, I've been trying to get WB6 installed on Vista but have had nothing but headaches with it. I'd either get bluescreens at boot or WB 6 would not load up a skin. I've been installing WB 6 clean, meaning not updating WB 5, just removing 5 then install 6...never occured to me if the installer would simply update 5 , should I be updating 5 instead? Does the installer do this? I've got 5.5 running solid right now...hate to screw everything up again...any suggestions would be appreciated..I'm currently using Vista on my XPS M1710...just looking for ideas on how exactly to go about installing this to get it to work Thanks, Larry

are you installing WB6 via SDC browser?

and yes, you have to uninstall 5 in order to install 6 beta

The install routine will remove 5.5 first, then ask you to reboot. You then will have to relaunch SDC and again highlight WB 6 and click Install.
Also, make sure your SDC is at ver. 2.46.472 Build 155, this is a must!

I archived 5 - then downloaded 6 straight to archive - then set WB to windows default, unistalled 5, robooted.
Restored 6 archive, rebooted.

ok, thanks...its just that i was having alot of grief with vista and wb6....stardock updated and i see the wb6 download is missing now... beta test over? Larry
