Memorial Day

Please keep in mind the Men and Women that served and died for their countries. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

I would also like to take this time to say thank you to all US Military forces here in the States and serving else where in the world. We truly owe our way of life to you. Thank you for everything you do.

Why do they have to close everything down just for that. I can't even get help with tech support and I don't even live in the Us and yet I am getting affected by it.

You can't wait one day while we honor our dead, many of whom died not just for our sake, but for the benefit of Europe, Australia, Asia, and Africa?

But why does everything have to be shut down? Also I looked it up it is supposed to be on the 30th of May and this is not the 30th. Besides I have to pay more because I live in Canada and for some unfair reason my money is worth less than US money. OS really I paid enough for this game I should not have to wait another day just for this. Besides how am I supposed to know it is a Us holiday? Do you know about all the national holidays in every single country? Besides nowhere on there phone line did it say they were closed. I am calling long distance to a number in another country do to them not telling me. Really stardock should have to compensate me for the money I wasted trying to get a hold of them all day.

Why does everything have to be shut down on Victoria Day in Canada? And Stardock clearly states that they are an American Company.

May We Remember Those Who Fought and Died So We Could Be Free.

It's less disruptive to the economy to celebrate it today.

It isn't our fault that the Canadian Dollar is devaluing. Contact your Prime Minister to complain about it.

Actually, most calenders in the U.S. include foreign holidays on them (Boxer's day, Guy Fawkes day, bank holidays, etc.). But here is a novel idea, if you are calling a foreign country, maybe you should check to be sure they will be open first.

Really stardock should have to compensate me for the money I wasted trying to get a hold of them all day.

So, Stardock should pay you for your own lack of knowledge and poor judgment?

Last week in Canada it was Victoria's Day (for what ever bizarre reason you guys feel it reasonable to have a holiday for a foreign monarch). Were I to waste my time and money calling a Canadian company that was shut down for the holiday it would be no one's fault but my own. So stop crying, take some responsibility for your own actions, and wait a day until Stardock reopens.

First off, let me apologise for my ignorant compatriot. Let me just say that he is not representative of most Canadians.

The Canadian Dollar is actually increasing in value compared to most currancies... we are at a 30 year high against the US.

avmf8 - Do you even begin to have a clue as to how currancy works? You didn't have to pay more because you live in Canada, you paid the same as everyone else.

Try getting in touch with what's around you.... would it be fair of an American to complain that we were shut down on Canada Day?

Actually, if you want to get technical Queen Elizabeth is the head of state in Canada, as she is in the UK and many other Commonwealth countries. What is Bizarre is that, to the best of my knowledge (fellow commonwealthers please correct me if I am wrong here), we are the only country to celebrate May 24 as Victoria day.

avmf8, why don't you post your problem and see if the community can help you out, instead of coming acros like an ignorant spoiled 4 year old. Dude your Canadian, you have to play into the nationalal sterotype, of nice, patient, friendly and somewhat wishy-washy. Didn't you get a copy of the manual on relating with the Americans? We can't let them see the real us

We don't celebrate it here in the UK. Heh, suckers!

All it takes is one bad apple to throw a whole thread in disarray. Nay, should just say the whole forums now theres several threads avfm8 has been whining in. I don't want to bash him (Oh wait YES I DO) but I don't want to get banned. So go TROLL somewhere else.

Let's all get back to "ON TOPIC", PLEASE ? Pretty please?

A big thank you out there to our vets!! A moment of silence for those vets who have died in service of their country.

Indeed, a big thank you to the Vet's, as well as to the families who have lost loved ones in the line of duty. You are not forgotten.

Best wishes to all our vets, past and present; here and gone! Our freedom is owed to them all! God bless everyone of them.

Australia, indeed! You left out Canada?

Don't forget those soldiers from other countries who died fighting for freedom.
I don't know how many realise Australia took the greatest losses as a percentage of population than any other country. but to my own shame i forget if that was for the first or second world war?

Australia celebrated Armed Forces Day like, last month. Which is their version of Memorial Day. And Canada celebrates theirs on the first Sunday in June.

So just shut up already, Christ. Americans can't even have a NATIONAL HOLIDAY without other countries complaining...

Sorry, i'm not complaining, i see how my remark can be missinterpreted as sarcasm.

I was actually saying that yes indeed, Australia did benefit.

Thanks to the men and women that gave up everything for our country. Best Wishes to all of our vets also!

Mystic, I think that was WWI. Gallipoli wasn't it? I would also like to thank all military members, past and present, Some of whom have made the ultimate sacrifice. As for the whiny Canadian, get over it. If you want to do buisness with a company from another country, you're going to have to find out their operating hours, preferably before you're in need. It's sort of like doing buisness with someone in Japan. You do realize of course that if you call them at noon your time on Fri, it's midnight friday their time. Would you be upset because they weren't open at midnight??

And many of them in wars of aggression (e.g. Iraq). Everyone participating in such a war dishonors the people who died in an honorable defensive war. Everyone who participated in a war of aggression should be punished for the crimes they committed.
What's the punishment for mass-murder again?

Also, please, lets not forget the veterans like myself who made 'the penultimate sacrifice'. We are still alive, but for many, many reasons are unable to live 'normal' lives ourselves.

As someone who worked in RAF intelligence, a big thankyou to all the US, Canadian, Australian and NZ folk I've worked with in my time.

Our rememberance day is of course November 11th.

We may or may not agree with what we are duty bound to do, but we do it to the best of our ability.

Thankyou

So you would be like one of those protesters who spat on returning vets from the vietnam war?

And there is no penalty for being such an unapreciative narrow minded insult to brave soldiers who risked their lives (for better or worse) for your freedom.

i agree with what you say about US-led wars, but this is neither the time nor the place. would you soapbox at a funeral?

You agree with him? You agree that a soldier fighting in a war wiyh a questionable cause, dishonours other soldiers that have died in just wars and is a war criminal?
