Poor here,
Yes - I was just as happy as the rest of you to recieve my email from StarDock - but then I read the Minimum Requirements: 1.8Ghz, 1GB ram, 256mb video card. Well, lets just say I haven't had to buy a computer for 7 years Yea, sure I did minor/major upgrades - but my motherboard can't be upgraded past my 1.4 Ghz - and now I'm stuck - me, 1.4Ghz, 98SE, and SOASE.
Get your laughs in now !!!
So I did it! I purchased a new comp today - just for this game
XPS - 2.4 Ghz Core 2 duo 4mb L2 cache
NVidia 7900GS
XFi Extreem 5.1 dolby
I got to wait now - for delivery, so you all get your practice (and your laughs) in - while the PoorManDSO lags

What a way to show your dedication to playing this game.

Ah - yea

I mean - This is the next generation HomeWorldI and byGod how could I not be part of the Beta testing? (please hold ur responses) I really hope the programmers listen to 'What the People Say', especially in Multiplayer, because there are issues that could have been resolved w/ HomeWorldI but weren't (I'm guessin due to lack of time).

And becides, I needed a REAL GOOD REASON to learn a new web-designing language. If you visit http://poor.sobanforce.com you'll see what I mean (did it all in HTML and FrontPage = not the best choices - only works properly @ 1024x768 res setting - but good luck on crackin' the members link)
I plan on creating a website for SOASE and hopefully setting up a tournament page/site for stats online (hopefully not with MyLeague - their interface is real bad). Any suggestions/comments/concerns would be highly appreciated   And btw - I can even have a dedicated stats server on my server

Just a note here - DSO is not a clan/organization/nor does it contain any members other than myself. It stands for Distinguished Social Order and if this game is a hit (and being a beta tester) I may open registration and start a clan - teaching (or shall I dare say - exploiting da' bugs) to 'nubbies' - Mawahahahaha.
But the forums r - grrrrrrreeeeeat!! Keep up the good work.
PoorManDSO Out !!!

Quite the contrary. The 7900 series of Graphics Cards is a top of the line DX9 card. You could certainly run some decent frames on medium settings. Hell my best friend is running a 7600GT and some of the minor things he can set to high like the lighting and particles. Crysis is overestimated. It's more of a CPU hog then a GPU hog.

By the way, how much RAM did you get and will this PC be running Windows Vista? Just a suggestion if it is Vista...have atleast 2 GB of RAM. It's a nightmare without it. It will improve gaming beyond beleif aswell.

Minus the Dell part, not a bad system. Hope you got Vista, instead of paying extra to live in the past with XP.
