Who are the Krynn?

So I got DA last week, absolutely brilliant game I love it! However one thing confuses me who actually are the Krynn? their race info just says they are here "to bring order to galaxy." Ive not played too deeply into the campaign yet so Im not sure if they will appear there but could someone tell me about them? They do creep me out a bit.

The Krynn are the big mystery... you'll probably have to wait for the next expansion or GC3 to learn more about them

Yeh I mean we learn some things about them (well I have so far) such as they're another one of these "righteous" races that are a bit of a paradox in that their fanaticism to be "good" makes them the enemy of the "evil" civs which is annoying because I've grown fond of playing as the Korath. They seem to be good at making money, good as spies and have a good ability to gang up with the other "good" races in sort of crusade like wars against the evil races. In the game Im playing at the moment they are acting as the "leader" of an alliance of "good" races including the Torians and Altarian resistance and all 3 seem determined to destroy the evil races, me (korath) the yor and they're all over the korx.

Anyways yeh I hope we get to learn more about them in GC3 like where exactly have they come from? why were they not a force in the galaxy before and during the events of DL? What exactly is their purpose? despite being a "good" race they seem sinister in nature. Are they actually in the campaign for DA?

No, i've already played through more than half the campaign, and no obious hints as to if the Kryyn even exist{in the storyline, anyway}. Maybe the Kryyn were in the story from the beggining, being hinted at in very discreet and vague ways...

As menioned in the campaign epilogue, the Krynn are from another galaxy. In which case their colonies here are "diplomatic outposts", though their definition of diplomacy may well be the kind where the other side ends up dead... just have to wait and see.

I thought the thalans were.

Yeah, what about the Thalans?

The Thalans are from another time- an alternative universe that is visited in GC3. The Krynn are from another galaxy.

At least, that is what I heard.

The Krynn is a world of magic and war, full of all sorts of weird and wonderful creatures(D&D types) and dangerous reptilian beasts. It's a place where Kenders like me roam free and get into all sorts of mischief. It just so happens to be my favourite race with the default traits except for the sucky super ability.

Possibly I've played through quite a bit of the campaign up to the mission involving Drengi itself but I've not heard of them yet. You're right though maybe they have always been in the background..

"We know now that in the early years of the twentythird century this world (the whole galaxy in fact)was being watched closely by intelligences greater than man's yup and even greater than the Thalans, and yet as mortal as his own. We know now that as human beings busied themselves about their various concerns Like the Drengin and Dread Lords for instance they were scrutinized and studied, perhaps almost as narrowly as a man with a microscope might scrutinize the transient creatures that swarm and multiply in a drop of water."

This wasn't lost on me either, they even look a bit like draconians.

I like the super ability actually. The counter espionage centers allow you to use all of your agents agressively and not have to worry about being ganged up on through espionage. Plus they are great morale centers.
