Show off your ship designs 2007!

Ship designs from around the world!

Last year, we had a thread in which people showed off some of the great ship designs they created with Galactic Civilizations II.

With the expansion pack adding so many new components and so much free form support, we'd love to see the cool things players create.

The cool thing in the expansion pack is now you can save your creations as templates and then assign the computer players to make use of those ships in various roles. Combined with the capability of creating your own custom opponents, now you can create your own sci-fi universe within GalCiv without modding.

for me, that link to the flying blaster is broken:

This is the link that I found to get to that image:

This is the previous link. I am not sure if anyone else had the same problem as me:

It is not bad looking, I how big would that blaster look in the combat viewer?

I make some really small craft on tiny hulls so that they can swarm and look cool...I am wondering if you do that as well. If I can get onto DA or DL sometime today I will make a fleet of them and fight something so that you all can see my little ships:D

@Galen Sometimes I do. I'm going to have to find a better model for a blaster though. Any recommendations?

@daniel Good ships.

I played SFB for years, and it was a fun game. The welded-wedge Tholian ships were always challenging to play. I wonder if it is possible so have 'smooth' welded-wedge Tholians in GalCiv2?

Have you tried NeoTholian designs?

no not yet but they look just like klingons mostly and i have their ships

and even in starfleet battles the tholians were never smooth welded

Here's my two cents worth of ships to put on this thread.

Introducing the DECc Empire colony ship, seen here in front of Drengi.

I think it looks good. I'd download it and use it.

Here's my latest Colony Ship. It's got a meteorite shield that funnels space debris into a mineral converter that is used by the ship to collect resources to be used upon arrival at the new planet.

IS there any way to take screenshots other than print screen and alt tabbing? Takes forever ...

Very cool designs. Have you used them in game? Does the came render them OK. Seems like it would have to render a ton with all the parts used.
