Nvidia display driver crash-memory dump.

Every few days I get a crash in Dark Avatar which gives a blue screen and refers nv4-display.dll. It says a page fault in a non-paging area. I have an Nvidia 7800GTXand am using the latest Nvidia driver. Can somebody explain what I can do about this problem?? I am running on an Athlon64 x2 4400 cpu with 2 x 1MB cache on cpu. I have a large cache assigned to memory paging.

"PAGE FAULT IN NON-PAGED AREA" in nv4disp.dll bluescreens were a classic symptom of an infinite loop error in nVidia drivers/cards, but I haven't heard of them since GeForce3/4. Typically in those cases, it was brought out by insufficient voltage on the PSU's 3.3v rail, and getting a PSU with better 3.3v supply would lessen or stop the errors. That is probably not the problem here though, since you've got a GF7 series card and I haven't ever heard of that issue with them.

Do you have this issue with any other games, or only DA? Also, are the listed memory addresses (the numbers prefixed by 0x listed on the BSOD) always the same, or do they vary?

Go ahead and post your debug.err as well so we can see what drivers you have, etc. It's located at C:\Program Files\Stardock\Totalgaming\GalCiv2\DarkAvatar, just open it in notepad and copy/paste everything to a reply here.
