Orphan child menu when click and drag child menu off to the side

How do you close the orphan child menu?

When I click on the StarDock Icon in the object bar a list of applications displays. If I point to to Accessories then left click and hold on Calc and drag of to the right the Accessory Application window becomes a ghost orphan and cannot be closed unless you terminate ObjectBar in Task Manager and re-launch the app. Is this a bug?

right click on it and 'close bar'

mine detaches but still works (non ghost)

That got it but it seems there could be a more friendly way to navigate this behavior.

Object Bar is made to 'tear off' menus and have them float

If you click the "parent" item on the bar the "floater will turn off and reattach itself.  It really is a great feature.  I have a small DX media player that I sometime want elsewhere . . . drag and drop baby!

doesn't seem to be working for me using the MacPC (Modern) theme - everything I drag off stays out there

Loaded teh MacPC bar included with OB2

My method works for me troll.
Stardock logo --> opend program list
Accessories --> opens sub menu
[expand or not]
Mouse-over exe, Lclick and drag tears off menu
Clicking Accessories . . . closes tear-off

Zubaz, I need for info on the re-attach ophan windows. I clicked on Programs (Stardock icon) which brought the app list up and then dragged the orphan over to where it was originally launched. It just ghosted an overlay and did not snap back to the primary app list.

How about a few screen captures?  Along with the steps you did.  (see my comment #7).

I don't understand why you dragged the torn off menu back to the original position.  I don't know what you mean by snap back.

On drag the menu tears off
OnClick of the text that launched the sub menu, submenu goes away
OnClick of the text again, menu is in original position

So are you saying that the only two options are to clear the sub menu and close the torn off menu? In many Win apps you can re-launch the sub menu and drag the torn off menu close to where it was originally and it will snap back to it's original location off the sub menu. Once snapped back (re-attaches to the sub-menu), closing the sub menu closes the child sub menu as well.

"Snap to" is also used in the context of mouse behavior where you are near a clickable item but don't have to be on top of it to lauch it. "Snap to" is also used on the Win desktop when you select align desktop icons to grid, where desktop icons snap to a Win aligned location within the grid not to the exact location you dropped it on the desktop.
