Galciv 2 Collectors Edition Desktop Issue

There appears to be an issue with using the Collectors Edition Desktop if you have Object Desktop.
If you install the stand-alone CE version to enable the GCII desktop you cannot upgrade the Theme Manager from SDC. The version in the stand alone shows as 2.25 and the error message upon trying to update it (so i can use other desktop suites as well) is: -

Theme manager OEM is currently installed on your computer. Please uninstall this product from the Add/Remove Programs within Control Panel to continue


However if i do this i lose the GCII desktop suite. Is the suite available as a stand-alone suite (not program) or can i please download the separate pieces from somewhere as i do wish to use the suite on my PC.

If you just open the theme file itself in a zip program, you should be able to just pull out the windowblind and iconpackage and use them individually as you would normal ones.

Hmmn dont seem to want to open with a zip program.. Any other ideas??

More specifically, you need to go to C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\ThemeManager\Themes and open Galactic Civilizations II.suite. You may or may not need to change the extension to .zip--I use 7zip and it recognizes it as a zip format file regardless of the extension, so I can just open it via the right-click menu in explorer.

Just extract the stuff in that file and install them as normal individual WB/IP themes, then you can just remove theme manager completely (there's an uninstall option for the GC2 Desktop in Add/Remove Programs).
