Finally got 100B.

Hi.  This is kind of a continuation of a conversation Mumblefratz and I had about trying to get 100B on a planet. Well it isn't to pretty and not particularly useful but here it is.

This is with 1.4 so the stock exchanges have no morale boost, that's the reason for all the VRCs. Also needing so many farms kinda kills much purpose other than just saying I did it.

Wow, that is a lot of people. It provides a pretty good income for how much you are spending on it.

Congratulations. Now you can file this away and not bother with it anymore. I have yet to do one. I have a planet for it so I will give it a try. From an economic point of view this is clearly a waste, I've gotten 3000 bc per turn on a similar planet except it wasn't my econ capital, so I expect I could get 6000 bc per turn with the econ capital. Mine is still v1.31 so without the pop and with v1.4 perhaps you could get 4500 bc a turn. Maybe at this point you might want to give it a try so you have an idea of how much income you give up to get the 100B. I'm sure it's not worth it by a long shot. This has to be the biggest waste of a PQ32 that I've ever seen.

BTW what's that other thing on the planet?

That's what I was thinking as I built it up. Each stock exchange I took down to add a farm meant less money. The added pop doesn't replace the exchanges economy wise. The Planet was making quite a bit more money when it had 15B and a pile of stock exchanges.

Thats a galactic showcase. I built it there before the "test" started. the other is political cap., but you probably knew that.   I had also made it my civ capitol for the added morale.

Well it's off to another adventure.

Thought I'd try the color thing.

Political capital makes sense for a high pop planet, but no, I didn't even notice it.

Actually, even full of stock exchanges with your econ capital, bringing in 4000 to 5000 bc's per week, I think a PQ32 is wasted just using it for income. Another research planet or a super production planet that can build a dreadnought every other turn is far more worthwhile than another money planet. The exception is as you pointed out, when you can't get an array of econ SB's around it because it's in the corner. But even in this case, if you got 8 econ SB’s for a 196% bonus and filled the planet with Industrial Sectors, it would be a pretty impressive manufacturing planet even without any bonus other than the SB’s.

Good luck in your next endeavor.

WTF?>??!!!!

1.4??????!!!

I didnt even know!!

Why didnt nobody tell me!!

Theres nothing on the main site that tells me theres a new version, and no morale on Stock Markets,WTF , NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooo

Mumblefratz we shoudlve never told them creators, ARGHHH!!!!

Well, wheewww...

No that is over, relax , relax monc,relax....

Well u know I wouldve used that planet as an Industrial Planet, 32 tiles, thats just too much of a waste as a pop planet, even if I wanted it as a Pop planet, I wouldve used a max of 3 farms, most of the time I use 2 farms, and rest Industry, Or economical capital with stock markets if I have other 25+ planets being used for Industry output, and most of the time by mid-end phase of the game I have more than 15 of those high PQ planets, and with MANY MANY capital industrial and economical planets, so I like money more, I use it to just buy the ships or anything else...

Anyways Nice seeing it done cuz I wouldve never tryed it in the first place, is just a waste of time!

Everyone pretty much agrees that this is a waste of time, though I'm glad DethAdder went to the effort to show us what it's like. I might even do it in my current game just to be able to say that I've done it, but clearly it's a waste of a perfectly good PQ32.

You should give it a chance, there are other redeeming aspects to the version. Anyway, that's what will form the basis for Dark Avatar (which looks to be very cool BTW) so you may as well start getting used to it.

I can't seriously believe that they didn't already know. Anyway, the AI plays by the same rules as the human, so in the end it really shouldn't matter that much. If you can't win without it, you probably didn't deserve to win with it.

Heck, I've gotta tip my hat to the fact that he's got the approval rating as high as he does. With that many colonists, I can't even begin to imagine what a few percentage points on the tax slider would do to overall morale. I've had a few games where I've managed to sustain taxes over 30% with 100% morale empire wide, and so much as a single planet with a farm and no morale structure would drop that one planet's approval to 60% in a heartbeat...

thats why stock market planets where important, slap 1 farm with 100% bonus, or just 2 farms with no bonus, and all other building stock markets and the morale shoudlve stayed pretty high, but that isn't possible anymore with 1.4 aint it?...

If you can't win without it, you probably didn't deserve to win with it.

Mumblefratz, im pretty sure I can win with the changes, I just saw that "New 1.4" post on the main site, and the "no morale on stock markets" doesnt seem to be that big of a problem, is just that we now need to use 1 or 2 VR's, no big deal, but at least there USEFUL now...

Also the changes on the Taxes is going to balance that back, and the fact that you can have more money at the begining of the game is pretty nice I think, an the 6 Bil cap instead of 5 bilion cap is also nice, so it might turn out to be OK after all, just let me finish my current game and Ill try it out and see what happens.
