There have been posts about how the minor AI is good, bad or ugly.
In a new game I am playing the usually lame Scotties have gone WILD. I am Alt-terrans and the Dreng have been the #1 civ, crushing the Terrans and torins and I joined the fight to help my Terran ally. I attacked the Dreng constuctors, freighters and lone ships...trying to help out, BUT this MINOR race has attacked the the Dreng head on. They have taken 2 Dreng worlds and now seem to have the best fleets in the galaxy. I just made an alliance with them. The Scotts RULE the game. Totally rule.

Occasionly the minor races get a lucky break, but its just that luck.

Well, the Dreng still dominate, more ships, more planets etc...
And I have seen the minors build fleets an then just sit there doing nothing ...
But these guys are out for blood (the Scotts) and I hope they continue with this aggressive action ...

Oh, you mean Altarians... right...

Also, I think it's spelled Scottlingas? You've got an extra 's' and the 'l' is in the wrong place.

Lucky you. I have been playing this game since it came out, and I still haven't had a very powerful minor race.

I've seen it happen, except I usually have to goad the minors into it. I usually pick a minor as an ally and start handing them the worlds I don't want. They go crazy.

I'll get some screens of the Jessuins beating the Arceans into so much dogfood for you.

I've had it happen with the Jessuins too. They stole tech from just about everyone to the point where the were the most advanced race in the galaxy, and their planet quality was increased to about 35 by two seperate events.

I totally overlooked this while dealing with the Yor, and basically allowed them to become the Number 1 race. In the end I managed to take their planet, tough considering there masive tech advantage, but by that time they had already taken all of the Drengin worlds. After that they just seemed to turtle-up their remaining planets and not attack anyone again.

Not bad for a bunch of hipppies...

i had problem whit them to. i fought i had the strongest navy in the galaxy....
then they slay all my ships! they would have won, but i started on a new game, cant acept i was beaten by a minor race...... the snathi is good to! i won a game toghether whit them and my trustfull allies, the drengin and the dominion. i was the yor..

Most of the minors have insane Economy bonuses (+100%!). In smaller galaxies, I guess that they could be pretty powerful if they get lucky and grab a couple of planets.

Maybe by Alt-terrans he is refering to how they are also humans, and thus alternate humans, or alt-terrans (for a play on words).

The term minor only means they start with less, it does not mean they are to be taken lightly.

UPDATE
The Dreng launched an assult on the Scotts homeworld, but the Scotties had a large Defender fleet in orbit and despite many ships lost on both sides the Scotts held on... I rush built a fighter-fleet and attacked the Dreng to divert thier attention. I lost most of my fleet, but the situation has settled into a stand-off. Well, not for the Terrans who launched a large attack on the Dreng and were totally destroyed... and to Feud - Bingo !!!
