AI cheating??? minor example

Well I am not sure if this really just me thinking the AI is good at doing this or is it cheating... but does the AI know how to find anomalies ie cheating wise like its always knows where to find them/ can see them at the start of the game through the fog of war. I could also say this about the AI finding planets sometimes too. Like I am looking for some anomalies that are below my empire and the neighboring empires to the east of me or far away are automatically going for the anomalies that are near my empire like if I am ahead of them I can predict where the AI is looking ie my ship is ahead of them and I change my direction to their exploration ships and I grap the anomalies first... so is the AI cheating all the time on all difficulties for this little example or is the ai just good like that...? lol. Just would like to know. I know the AI cheats at high difficulty levels but I am just curious.

Your own survey ship can auto-detect anomalies too. Just set the survey checkbox and let it go, it *knows* where they are.

AI has the same advantage.

Oh thanks and what I said about the AI finding planets I just realised how stupid I am now when I said that. But thanks for telling me this.

As to finding planets--the AI is coded such that it CANNOT colonize a plane tuntil it has sent a scout and actually *seen* that planet. On the higher difficulties it does however get a chance to 'guess' where a habitable planet may be, as humans do.

Your own survey ship can auto-detect anomalies too. Just set the survey checkbox and let it go, it *knows* where they are.

Only after it has scanned the area with the anomaly; it can't see anomalies that are still obscured by the FOW.

Actually, no. The survey ship will often plot a course right inside the fog and it will turn out to be an anomaly. Normal behavior.

i have also seen the ai use the same colony ship to colonize more than one planet

Survey ships have a device that will take them automatically to the nearest anomaly.
