Broken Short cut?

Everytime I either put the disk in or otherwise start the game, it instantly crashes to desktop without showing me anything of the game. I keep getting a little window that says "The item 'MWSOEMON.EXE' that this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved, so this shortcut will no longer work properly. Do you want to delete this short cut?" I always answer no because I haven't done anything to my machine and I don't want to delete something I might need later. I have, however, installed the game by 'exploring' the CD and running the setup file. Any ideas?

Given the following facts, I think it is safe to conclude that it is an issue with your computer, and in no way connected to the game or its installer.

1)No such file exists on the CD
2)No such file can be found in the finished install directory
3)No such file is referenced in the autorun.inf or accessed by autorun.exe

Thanks for that. Found the problem. Damn spyware crap. Anyway, I got it working on my laptop. Thanks for the help.

Spyware writers and distributors should be killed. In a slow, very painful manner.
