I've noticed that there are a lot more females in fantasy games than in science-fiction based games. When I was playing Everquest, I knew a large number of females, and I knew they were because I talked to them either on the telephone or using one or another voice-chat programs. Comparatively, I only knew a very small number of females in EVE and Earth & Beyond. As a genre, too, strategy does not seem appeal to many females, as far as I have observed, though I hesitate to comment on what the reason(s) might be, be it genetics, cultural reasons or something I jsut would not think of. I am not saying females aren't capable of strategic thinking, and I am certainly not particularly good at it myself, but for entertainment purposes I don't think females are generally drawn to this sort of game. Those that are, however, I have noticed are damn good at it!
