The descriptions read "Reduces the cost of the Survey Module to zero, allowing you to equip any ship to explore anomalies." Your wikipedia also says the same. Now Ive made this improvement for the 10th time and there happens absolutely nothing. The survey mod still cost 11points. Looking at the PlanetImprovements.xml I find the following

So where does isactualy the entry about the reduction for the game? Any other special improvement got a ton of lines with special abilities and similar stuff. This one not. Would explain why nothing happens.

If there is a "workaround" like editing the xml, so what would be the stuff I have to change. And what file will I have to change for the current game. Because I noticed already, made changes do not apply for current games.

I'm not 100% sure, but there are a couple of points here:

1. It's the cash price that is reduced to zero, not the space it takes up
2. As with all stat improvements, it won't show up in the Shipyard (look at the speed of your ship while designing it after researching engine techs that give global speed boosts, it'll be a couple of points less than what it should be)

That said, the wonder is still pointless, since by the time you get it there are no anomalies left.

I built the Galactic Guide Book in my current v1.11 game
(& no by the time it is available all anomalies are not gone => gigantic map)

first it worked perfectly (reduces the cost of the module to 0 (module is shown with price but price isn't reflected on the whole ship price)
then I saved
later I reloaded and all survey ship jumped to normal price
now if I upgrade or redo my designs it will work
but if I don't do that I'll pay the full price !!!
