OK. For me, most of the features, at least the ones I do use, works well. That, so far, is the only issue I've encountered. It's not a hard issue, just annoying. Hopefully, it will resolve itself with later versions. Thanks
Janly
Sorry, forgot about that, It's Windows 10 Version 2004 (OS Build 19041.388)
As you can see the two Apps continue to be opened. I close them, and later on, they come back. I added the desktop icon to it so you can see where they are located. (ignore the snip and sketch, which I had to open to make this print screen.)
I have an Object Desktop Quick Launch on the bottom, with the start menu button and a few system tray icons. My issue is that the Windows settings remain open in this launch menu. I try to close it and it still remains there no matter how many times a click to close it. How can I get the Settings window to be fully closed?
BTW, I also noticed that with WB it does take a bit more resources. Each time I closed a program, it took a few extra seconds before I could click on another program or tab. Not so with Curtains.
Thanks all for your response. I do like both, but given that some of my apps don't skin well with WB (or not at all), I will stick with Curtains for now. I also noticed that some WB skins don't apply properly to some areas (i.e. The close (X) button shows correctly but it won't close when I click on it. Seems to be off-centered from where it should be.)
I need to understand the difference between Windowblinds and Curtains. Seems to do similar though somewhat differently. I've been trying to skin some of my programs but they won't skin with WindowBlinds. Most do with Curtains, however, it seems that I can use one or the other but not both. Curtains can skin most of my programs but don't seem to have the variety of skins that WindowBlinds has. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Now, if I can get to skin with Windowblinds, it would be complete.
I found the setting to correct it. Just in case others are having similar issues; need to go to Advanced Settings for xplorer2, on the Global tab, need to toggle on the "Disable custom drive icon extraction"(6th in the list). That will bring all icons to the defaults set by icon packager.
Is there, in the meantime, a way to exclude IconPackager from skinning if using another File explorer (i.e. Xplorer2), or is it a all or non situation?
I have xplorer_2 installed and it skins with WB, but the icons from icon packager skins most of the drives except for the C: drive and anything under the C: drive.
I installed OD and set a skin on Windoblinds, however, the latest Firefox and Edge browsers are not skinning. How can I get to skin these?
Hope someone can figure my dilemma. I'm using ODock2 tabbed docks. I have created a folder for all my shortcuts, as I have a mix of installed and portable applications. In my shortcut folders all my shortcuts shows their respective icons, however, when I added these to ODock2, some of them shows but most don't. Is there a problem on how ODock selects to show the icons? Does it depend on the file type in which the icon resides? Some have their respective DLL file wh
Yes there is, In the "Choose Icon" window click on the down arrow to the right of the addressbar. From here you have two options, once you have gone to your folder once it will be listed in here as a folder history, you can then select from there. Or, the second option is, you can use the "Add Folder to Library" option listed below the folder history, what this will do is add the folder and subfolders to the left pane window where it will be visible from t
I've been using OD+ for a while now, however there seems to be a persisting problem with it. Everytime I reboot my PC, when OD+ starts loading it states that it recuperated from an incorrect shutdown. Shortly after it loads. Why OD+ doesn't shut down properly when I reboot? Do I have to unload OD+ before rebooting each time? Each time I do a Win update I have to remember to unload OD+ before clicking on reboot? Seems to me that OD+ should have
Thanks for the reply, however, it didn't work. I disabled my antivirus, the ad-aware and the firewall. It "installed" this time, however, when I tried applying a theme it reverted to the plain old Win2000 desktop. I rebooted and it gave me a runtime error. I had to go in safe mode and disable stardock in order to enable me back in windows. Icon Packager and Cursor FX works with the only problem that when I reboot it reverts back to the original. Up
I've been trying to install WB7 latest, however, it downloads and starts the installation, but it gets stuck in "Installing Update". I close Impulse and start the process again but with same results. I tried the Reset Data and tried re-installing, with same results. How can I get WB7 installed? I have upgraded to Win7 32bit. I did a clean install and reinstalled all my softwares. Other Stardock products loaded without a problem. Help........Alex
The Aquarium Desktop 2009 is showing on MyDesktop. My registration list shows a registration code for it, however, when I try to downoad, it says that it's not available. Any reason why?
I'm using Vista Premium and I've had no problems when I was using WB5 with my skins in the D drive. So, I'm not sure that this is a Vista requirement. Probably someone with a gripe starting to spread rummors. However, I do agree with the consensus that it would have been a good idea for SD to allow the user to select which drive/folder to use. One of my pet pieves is when software installs itself without asking which drive/folder to use. I think that it should be up to the PC owner to decide
I just want to join your concern. I had to re-install my PC, including OD. Now, my Logonstudio Vista doesn't work. I even have less software than what I had before installed, and what I installed is what I previously had so there shouldn't be any conflicts with my other programs. Could it be Windows Firewall?
Thanks for the fast response. When I installed it, it didn't give me the incompatibility message I get under Vista, so I assumed that it would work. I will await the new version. Thanks much............Alex
Hello, Does anyone knows if there will be a version of Bootskin for Vista? I installed it in Vista Premium, however, when applying a skin it kept giving me an error that the vidstub.sys is corrupt. I have to get my Vista disk and do a repair each time as Windows wouldn't load, not even in safe mode. Not sure if it's the program that's not compatible with Vista, or the skins itself that may be to blame. In the meantime I had to uninstall it since I can't use it. <b
I'm having the same problem and it's becoming very annoying. I DL from Stardock Central, but I also bought the separate version for work. I set it up with all my submenus. It is quite slow when setting up, but otherwise it works well...until I have to shut down and reboot my PC. Then all my submenus are gone. I had to go back and recreate all my submenus, just for it to happen again. I ended up uninstalling the darn thing. Why can't they have so
I had installed the latest version of Iconpackager (Version 3). After I did so, my Pinnacle Studio refused to work. At first I thought the problem was with Pinnacle, so I uninstalled and reinstalled it again, with the same results, it would give me an error message stating that it failed to initialize. I then realized that the only difference from before and now was this update, so I reverted back to version 2.99 and viola, Pinnacle works again. Al
Actually, I have another question. More like a comment. I have the OD+ full version. It would be nice if I could lock the icons so as not to delete them by mistake. Sometimes my mouse acts up and when I try to click on an icon in the OD, it moves it out of place and sometimes even deletes it, as it's as easy as just dragging them out of the tab. I saw a comment previously that the free version has this type of option. If it's so, I'm wond
