Intelligence gathering in GalCiv 2 DA is definitely much different than before. I am not too thrilled with it yet overall however. I agree that in the example given about utilizing spies to take down a civ econimically is brilliant and impressive - but - not necessarily realistic. I also agree that the ability to navigate and view all planets resources and structures by using a spy to browse them all seems to offer an unfair advantage to the player and

I played for a few hours last night and the Peacekeepers suddenly started disappearing. Is this normal? Is it a glitch? There were at LEAST 40 or 50 pairs of Peackeepers initially that I could see on the map - and now suddenly they are nowhere to be found with no explanation of where they went or what caused them to leave. While I'm grateful for their exit, I'm also puzzled by it - and - just a TAD disappointed. I was actually at a tech level h
Interesting Discussion! I'm glad I'm not the only one with the "Peacekeeper Plague". I started a number of Dark Avatar games but this is the first one I've really played through. Anyway, in this game, I've gotten the Dread Lords, the unlimited range, the Jagged Knife, the spy's on my planets, the Pirates and the Peacekeepers all in the same game! Both the Pirates and the Peacekeepers really went after my Trade Ships. But fortunately for me, I
Attempting to install DA via Startdock Cetntral over past few days and again just now...no luck. I preordered it months ago. Viewing the log during the download it says the following: -- [Application] ---------------------------------------------------- Name: Stardock Central Path: C:\Program Files\Stardock\SDCentral Version: 2.38.436, build: 139 -- [Sy
Thanks a TON to Kryo for the info on how to preorder Dark Avatar using existing tokens/TGN subscriptions. I kept checking Stardock Central waiting for DA to show up as a buyable product using my tokens and it never showed. Now its ordered and I don't have to worry about it anymore! Thanks again!
I posted this on the Dark Avator area as well. I'm a TGN subscriber. How can I use my TGN tokens to preorder Dark Avatar? Is there a method to do so? Thanks!
I have a Total Gaming Net Account with a lot of tokens from when I originally purchased GalCiv2. Is there going to be a method of payment available to utilize these tokens for a preorder? Thanks!
I'd like the ability to research more than one branch of the tech tree at a time and adjust the percentage of resources allocated to each branch. Much like the original MOO could do long, long ago....
When using the Planet/Ship list for examining your planets, would it be possible to have the list REMAIN in the background where you left it? With the current position in the list intact? When you have a lot of planets under your control, it gets a bit tedious to have to navigate back and forth between the planet production windows of the respective planets and then scroll back through the planet list window to the point where you left off. Either that or have the planet/ship list close (to s
I believe I mentioned this previously when suggesting it for loading saved games. But there are MANY places where double-clicking would sure come in handy. Such as on the GNN screen with planet improvement summaries. Double-clicking the on the announcement for the planet should take you to that planet's production window as an option to clicking on the "go to" at the bottom. Same for loading saved games. Same for navigating in and out of the planet/fleet listing screen. Double-click ta
I like the scrolling by arrow keys idea as well. OR the PageUp/Dn keys would be excellent. Also, when you click on a scroll bar for say the fleet of current ships or your current planets, I'd like the ability to click and hold the mouse button on the scroll bar and have it scroll until it reaches where I want (or at least close). Also, for the scroll bars (for the above - or for the tech & production resource window), I'd sure like to be able to position the cursor over the arrow on each
When upgrading a ship design that has 2 or more components (such as 2 engines or 2 life support units), selecting the engine or life support item to remove (in order to upgrade for example) removes the first item but when you try to click and remove the 2nd item it restores the first item instead. Either I'm missing something or this isn't working properly. I've found workarounds such as removing one item and then switching to a different component list and then goinng back to remove the
One of my favorite aspects of these kinds of games is researching technology and seeing how it applies to the current circumstances in game play. Maybe someday, there's the possibility of considering a couple of suggestions for technology in the future. Such as: 1) Why limit technology researching to just one segment of the tech-tree at a time? Why not several? Why not all? I understand the huge undertaking this entails to Gal Civ 2. Which is why I'm suggesting it for a future add-o
Thank ya! I found that in the manual about 10 minutes after I posted the question. Sorry for such a foolish question!
Would it be possible when loading saved games to be able to double-click on the saved game you want to load vs. clicking the load button at the bottom? A minor thing - but I don't think it should be too difficult to accomplish. Perhaps other prefer to leave it as is. In which case I'll apologize in advance. To everyone enjoying the game this weekend like I am... HAVE FUN!! To those who built such an incredible game after the MOO3 disaster... THANK YOU!!
Is there a way to zoom in and out on the main screen via the keyboard? This is the kind of game I enjoy playing when traveling and I don't always want to bother with a mouse on the plane. Is there a keyboard shortcut to main screen zooming? Thanks in advance for any help. And thanks TONS for another great game!
