Jackie and I told took Yvonne to the trauma clinic at the University of Michigan Medical Center today. They repeated the chest X-ray. This shows that the pneumothorax is pretty much resolved. They are not worried about her spleen. They suggested that both of us were helmets next time we go horseback riding. I did not go to work today as I had planned.

This not much to report today. We've had quite a bit of Senate continues to stone pretty hard. We have had quite a bit of snow and it continues to snow pretty hard. This dictation system occasionally may make some pretty strange mistakes. I may have to retract my statement about going to work tomorrow. If there is a very much snow on the ground, I will not feel safe driving, and will stay home. In that case, we may have to reschedule Yvonne's appointment. I'm still feeling pret

http://www.imagestation.com/member/index.html?name=jyaroch&c=201 This is day six of our adventure. As of now, it has been 24 hours since I have taken any Vicodin. This is a good sign because it indicates that I might be able to go back to work on Monday. Yvonne is still having difficulty with shortness of breath. We have decided that we will not take her in for a chest X-ray today. Instead, we will ask them to do that at the University of Michigan when she goes in for the trauma c

This article is being dictated to a speech recognition program. I'm doing this hoping that it will prove to be a useful alternative to using the keyboard. This now Thursday, January 1st, 2004. It is now new year's day. To day I feel pretty well. Yvonne seems to be feeling better. Yvonne seems to be feeling better. I have been able to complete some chores such as feeding horses. I don't give them bales of hay, but I do give them grain. I can fill up their water buckets too. The horses a

Ok, it looks as though dad's e-mail account is closed. Citizens Ann, Rose, and Kevin have signed on; mom has not. Once she signs up, I'll make the postings visible only to us. And anyone with a valid interest who asks. Someone [dad] should get Bill a computer for his birthday. The last shopping trip was a success. The Amy's vegetable lasagna, pesto rotini, and enchiladas went quickly. As did most of the Nouriche, and the Cliff bars. We now need more of that, plus some decent mul

Well, I'm feeling ok, but itchy and hurt some. The worst part is that it's boring to be so limited, especially since it takes longer to do anything. Yvonne id feeling a bit better; she seems to have more energy, and is eating a liuttle bit. Later today, I'll try going out. this will help me determine how feasible it might be to start back at work. Isuspct that half the day will be ok. I doubt I could do a full day. On Mondays, I usually work until 7PM. That definitely won't do.

I saw my family doctor today. He showed me the orthopedic texbook he read to find out what he should do. Basically, the treatment is to use an immobilizing sling for two weeks, then a regular sling for 2 weeks, then physical therapy. That's all there uis to it. Still hurts, though. Yvonne has to get another chest x-ray on Friday. She still gets short of breath easily, so she needs assistance just to walk across the room. I'm not sure how we're going to get her to Radiology, because moving

This is the Joe and Yvonne recovery board. Yesterday, our horses got spooked by something. They took off at a full gallop, and we both fell off. Igot a broken arm. It's the right-side humerus. There are two cracks in the head; neither intersects the joint space. Yvonne got two broken ribs, a pneumotharox, and contusions to kindey and spleen. At this point, there isn't much risk of complications. Everyone has been woderulyy helpful. Thanks to you all. I'm not goin
