if you leave your theme.ini out, does it work?

save your OD themes, backgrounds and icons & try clearing the cache.

always uninstall any free/trial version and reboot 1st. if you go the reinstall route, back your themes and stuff up. here's a mini tutorial if needed: Link

Theoretically, I'm guessing (since the singular would be an entire desktop environment as a gadget)you could create an entire d.e. but to not violate any licensing agreements, each part would have to be a separate gadget. That would eat too much of your system.

But you can apply *.desktop files all you want. yeah, you can create the desktop files but the target system has to have desktopx to run it. I believe it's akin to using Theme Mgr OEM which comes with the installers.

Have you tried 'Settings->Internet->Refresh XML Data'? yep Though I'm not sure if this works for SDC itself or just the installed apps...

here's a work around until somebody supplies the answer: open WB configuration > per application > click add & browse to Word's .exe and add it to be excluded (there are options in per appl besides total exclusion - sometimes just skinning the title bar works - sometimes just having that program only use a certain skin works)
