My main gripe with fallen enchantress is how combat is handled, so no. Old games such as Age of Wonders 2 did something similar and infinitely better.
Space combat needs an overhaul first and foremost. Ground combat is secondary. If ground combat is to be implemented then I hope they do something similar to crusader kings 2. Turn-based or RTS based ground combat would be too time consuming considering how many planets there are in a typical galciv game.
No turn-based combat either. I would rather keep it as it is then. The developers would also have to develop an AI for that, which could detract from them improving other parts of the game. An AI that isn't easy to exploit. I don't need to be in absolute control of individual units. Letting me determine fleet compositions, tactics etc. beforehand is sufficient and with the option of letting me watch things play out
I don't want RTS in GalCiv. Fights would probably quickly become rather tedious considering how many colonized planets there are in a typical galciv game. Perhaps something similar to combat in Crusaders Kings? Gratuitous Space battles has interesting combat with good visuals. Perhaps a ground version of that? I want Space combat to be handled in a similar fashion too :)
Yes, Imperium Galactica had a good system. I absolutely loved how you could build planetary defenses on the ground and then watch them shooting at enemy fleets in orbit. I don't want GalCiv3 to have similar ground combat though.
tactical combat similar to "gratuitous Space battles" or the dominion series with real fleets, consisting of different kinds of vessels, fighters and bombers. The ship design mechanic in GalCiv2 was uninteresting, because you only ever built one kind of vessel to combat the enemy.
How about combat similar to "Gratuitous Space Battles" or the dominion series? I want some kind of pew pew to satisfy my nerdy needs. I don't need to be in absolute control over what happens. Watching things play out is just fine. Also I think the Ship Design mechanic in GalCiv2 was entirely uninteresting, because there was no fun in managing your fleets. Fleet compositions never mattered that much. Choose the biggest hull, put as many weapons on it as pos
Siege warfare is probably my biggest gripe with this game. I mean, you build walls, but don't see them on the battle field?
My wife for hire!
Every time I play this game I find myself wishing that combat was more like it was in the Age of Wonders series. Does anyone else feel the same way? You had real siege warfare (with walls, magical defences etc.), more manouvering, multiple armies clashing, more unit variety with many different abilities etc. Has anyone else played that game?
Ok, so it is kinda like Age of Wonders or Heroes of might and magic.
Hey I've taken an interest in this game, but I can't seem to find any screenshots or video footage that illustrate what combat looks like? Any help would be much appreciated :)
Entrenchment v1.02
I can only choose TEC, Vasari and Advent when starting up a game and the mod is running. What should I do?
What filetype is it? It says unknown filetype when i try and download it. Got a new PC, so I haven't got all the programs installed yet.
ok. thx for the help
How do you get your relationship above friendly? Give them stuff?
k. The AI players have formed alliances during my previous two games. Getting kinda of annoying that they are all allied.
I can't make them declare war on eachother because they are all allied.
Just got the game and im enjoying it tremendously. However I do have a question. The other civs seem to keep on allying with eachother instead of for instance waring eachother. The Yor and Drengin have been exterminated by the Alterians. I hate the constant peace in the galaxy, how do I create strife between the other civs?
Well it didn't say anywhere that it was a used game, just cheap. http://www.billigespil.dk/shop/search-1.html the price has gone from 268 DKK to 58 DKK
first hand copy? what does that mean I don't want to download the game, since im changing to vista soon.
having a hard time finding a dealer that sells Dark Avatar. I've ordered dread lords at 58 DKK which is 10,65 Dollars
I do not save any money by buying the games from EBgames. The game is shipped from the USA and I live in Denmark, which ads an additional 24,99 Dollars to the price.
