Welcome to my world, i have the game currently not installed due to the fact i used to waste hours per day trying to connect and it never resulted in a successful game. You just have to be patient until the next update, Stardock have been working hard on fixing the networking issue so you just need to give it some time.

Nice Idea, you can pretty much relate your idea exactly to Mirana's Arrow from Dota, except it moving at a faster speed and greater distance... which would be incredibly fun to use.
Or.. will I be able to connect to american servers (and not be insta kicked if my ping ends up being around 100 as a result?)
I think you will be fine with that. I am from Australia and my ping to the typical American players is 250. When i can get into an actual game and it starts, the lag is not that bad during the rest of the game. This being a Beta, you won't get kicked out of games because of a higher ping,

After playing a bit of Senda this patch, i was thinking how to relate her abilities to using this Command Radius/Command Zone mechanic. Her Healing/Regeneration aura's can reach to the edge of her command radius and the range of the aura's will grow as the radius expands due to levelling/items etc. The Yeti's should only be able to live inside her command zone, unlike normal minions that would be able to roam outside of it and just be weaker for it, the Yeti's seem to
Good basic idea, I think there can be argument about the nitty gritty but overall seems like a good way to try to go. The little thing I would add is that maybe the closer the general is to his units within the radius the more boosted stats they get. If the general attack the same units as a friendly unit is attacking they get bonuses. I don't know there are so many possibilities with this idea, good one.
I l

The idea of Good vs Evil type of factions would be more suited to a persistant type of game, like an RPG (cough Knights of the Old Republic cough). I would like if instead of having to remodel each of the cu

Having some way to "inspect" what items the enemies have is a must in any sort of competitive game. Of course anyone can argue the point that not knowing what the enemy has can add to the excitement and make the game more spontaneous but having a view on what the enemy has allows for the player themself to adopt to the strategy on the fly. Having players making strategic decisions as the game progresses based on what they see the enemy has on them as just an aspect that needs to be a part of
I reallly like this Idea and You presented it very well. It would really widen the gap between the playstyles of assassins and generals without adding much. Also it doesn't render the General useless bench warmer. Although its would take some balencing to get right it would be a great addition once it was.
Yeah it would be awesome if we could have it implemented for some beta testing in one of the upcoming patches. Guessing what items your enemies are carrying is not something most people will take kindly too. I'm sure the Dev's will not leave this void in gameplay although i highly doubt that they will implement items and weapons physically changing how the Demigod looks, even though it would be a nice addition. A way to "inspect" an enemy seems like a more reasonable solution if they do not wish to add visual changes.
Abilities and items that affect the "flavor" of the command aura would be cool as well (attack speed, movement speed, armor, etc.)
Yep i agree, with this gameplay mechanic implemented, it opens up many more strategic development paths for a General. Depending on the other players on a team, a General could choose to enhance his Command Influence with Items or Skills that can focus on increasing a certain aspect such as Weapon Damage

This is just an idea i had for making the Generals more unique in gameplay compared to Assassins. Positive and Negative Feedback is welcome. General's Command Radius Introduction: It seems a main problem at hand is having 2 seperate "classes" of Demigod, supposed to have completely different gameplay mechan

Hiya, Im curious on if there is any indication on when the next patch, fixing the pathetic network code, will be released? As much as i love attempting to connect to games for 5 hours straight with no success, some actual online multiplayer beta testing and gameplay would be much appreciated. I am assuming that my case is worse than most others being from Australia and i know of only 1 other Australian beta tester whom i have yet to attempted a game with just from general distaste for
snipe already has a range
It has a range? from what i saw snipe works from one base to another.

7 Replies 2,068 Views

Another solution for this ability would be to have a set maximum effective distance for the snipe ability (not sure of the units of measurement) and if the distance exceeds the maximum effective range one of more of these effects can be considered to occur: The damage of snipe is halved The Channelling takes twice as long The mana cost for snipe is double the amount The Snipe ability gets put on grealtly increased cooldown for that instance <

Solution 1: As Wagnard said, have a Demigod immune to the exact same ability for a few seconds after it has hit them. Solution 2: Many more demigods to choose from, will give people more variety and less incentive to duplicate the same Demigod or even be able to enforce no duplicates if there are 20+ demigods.

Agreed Soccer, Total Annihilation was so fun because of the GREAT modding community that was around at the time. Myself, i was a reviewer/tileset maker at TAMEC and it was an awesome community to be a part of. If Demigod's community was half of what TA's used to be i will be happy with it. Hopefully they release modding tools in the near future to let the modders get to work and build this game up into something massive.

Is Chris Taylor going to play? He is my hero! I still play Total Annihilation to this date. [e digicons]XD[/e]

Mcmjon: I wouldn't overestimate the Dev's skill in game. I once played a Dev of Total Annihilation and he was sub-par. Someone who is thinking up idea's for Maps and Graphics or animating creeps has no advantage while playing the game. Just think of it more as a bonding session between the dedicated beta testers and the developers of the game.

If there are less Demigods, there should be more variety in their builds. At the moment as mentioned before there isn't that much of a variety based on the skills on offer. Having 2 or 3 "Skill Trees" based on MMORPG games would be a great way to increase the variety of gameplay without having to create such a large number of Demigods. For example, Torch Bearer could have a Fire and Ice tree, each tree with a final skill that requires level 15, so that the final skill c
