Agree!! Right now, I've done what pelaird do. But still, the layout will most probably rearrange itself. Bummer!

The 'Controlled Folder Access' feature in 'Ransomware Protection' was activated, which prevented some apps from writing to certain folders. Turning it off allowed Start11 to save its settings. Problem solved.
It's not a major issue. Hopefully, the next update will fix it. Thanks.
Uninstall Start11 (keep settings) > fill out a questionnaire > REBOOT > download Start11 > get activation key by e-mail > finish install Start11 > REBOOT > Backup settings to a file > select file > confirm save > same result "Start11 is not responding"
Microsoft Windows Pro Version 23H2 (0S Build 22631.5699) Microsoft Surface Laptop 5 (Core i7, 16MB, 1TB) Start11 v2.55 Beta Run "Backup settings to a file" > select file > confirm save > system not responding (see pic). Please help.
When I right-click on an app and select Add to Start11, and then select a group to add to, the app icon is always added in the 2nd normal icon (3rd small icon) position within the group, and everything else that's already there is shifted to the right. This is annoying, especially since I have my very own system for organizing icons. Why isn't the icon added at the very end, so nothing else gets distorted?
Agree. Very annoying.
I used Surface Pro 7 (i5, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD + 512GB SDXC) for the main device and Surface Pro 5 for backup. I installed Start11 for the menu system. However, in tablet mode , Start11 sometimes became a nuisance. Then I switched to the Surface Laptop 5 (i7, 16GB, 1TB). Everything is okay now. 🙂 I agree. The Start11 developers should get a Surface tablet to test. 😅
Is it possible to have 2 columns in the vertical Taskbar?
I just upgraded v1 to v2. It works okay (knock on wood... 🙂). Thanks for the directions.
I customize my menu (Start11 v1.55) quite extensively. Is it going to work right away if I upgrade to Start11 v2? BTW my current menu looks like this...
Microsoft Windows 11 Pro Version 23H2 (0S Build 22631.4112) Microsoft Surface Pro 7 RAM 8GB SSD 256GB SDXC 512GB Only after Windows update a week ago, option: Configure Start11 > Taskbar > Taskbar position > Align Top Problem: Any taskbar button > mouse right click > nothing happen Restart Explorer, restart Windows... same result Any solution other than moving Taskbar to bottom (Align Bottom)?
Agree. "Close a single window" is far more useful than "close all windows".
So disabling "Optimize taskbar for touch..." will enable "Align Top Taskbar" and "Small Taskbar Size." Thanks.
Anyone use Start11 v1.43 on Microsoft Surface Pro in tablet mode? In this mode, Start11 doesn't support "Align Top Taskbar" and "Small Taskbar Size." Correct?
The issue is solved! Thanks!
