Dear AZDude, thanks for your reply. However, not what I am looking for. I need a comparision from v3 to v4 regarding which features are new an what is so thrilling that I should upgrade from v3. Thanks, Steffen
The main differences are. 1. Fences is a little faster on startup. 2. Windows peek. 3. Rounded corners and other slight changes to go with Windows 11. 4. B

I'm sorry but on the faq, the answer is not clear : if I upgrade from Fences 3, I still have 5 activations or 1 activation ?
You will only receive 1 activation per upgrade. A couple of things. Firstly, at this current time the most widely used solution to the never combined issue is this program(explorer patcher) which is also a registry hack but is more simple to use and 100 percent compatible with start 11 (Windows 11 native start menu is also an issue so start 11 is required in my opinion) https://github.com/valinet/ExplorerPatcher Secondly, The only current soluti

Hi So there has been a report of a similar issue you are experiencing here https://forums.stardock.com/508778/page/2/#3829509 I would wait for a response from the developer in regards to this issue. The good news is that this means that nothing dangerous is going on and is rather just a bug that needs sorted out

Sorry, I was trying to compare a computer virus with a real life virus like covid there in an analogy of false positives. I am not sure I was very clear on that At first glance it seems like it may be a driver issue since you say it is a brand new computer. Have you tried from windows setting menu in the windows update options.... clicking yes on additional Microsoft products And then update from the optional updates. This usually will get you the current mouse and key

1. Was your Fences 4 program in contact with other infected programs in the last 2 weeks? 2. Was your Fences 4 program installed at least 6 folders away from all other programs? 3. What was your CPU's temperature when you downloaded Fences 4, was it running hot? 4. Sometimes when dealing with Virus's we error on the side of caution. Fences 4 is a safe program, this sounds like a false positive reading to me. False Positives can be tricky. It is a

I think Mario Bros. ability to still be played today showcases that not all game genres need the best graphics possible. In my opinion, I think every game genre runs better on a certain level of graphics. I will list off some games to illustrate. I think super Mario Bros for the snes is the best Mario game ever made, some may say Mario 3 was the best, but their concept and time frame are still close. We can also throw Sonic the hedgehog in with this since it was also made in the same

I actually can confirm I am having the same issue. I do not really use my taskbar at the top of the screen so I have not noticed before. I do have Start 1.01 Beta installed. 1) 22000.348 2) Mouse, logitech M510 3) Yes. explorer patcher. I have tried with both it activated and deactivated with the same result. Deactivation is by changing the dll file name and restarting explorer so a residual effect is possible. 4) No 5) Windows 11 English. Clean in

Jafo - You do make some good points. Particularly with Windows 10. I think at the time it was nice to get away from windows 8 and into something new for me. Surprisingly, I myself was pretty quick to leave Windows 10 behind for Windows 11 so I must have been craving something new. Honestly, there is only one OS from Microsoft I skipped altogether and otherwise have always been an early adapter. The only OS I ever skipped was Vista. Windows XP probably brought the biggest upsides out o

Fair enough, The good part about Windows 11 is that it is actually better at release then Windows vista or Windows 8 was when they were released. The bad part is, that it still doesn't stack up to what Windows xp, Windows 7, or Windows 10 were when they were released. Every other release they seem to come up with this great new idea that doesn't really work the way they intended until it is fixed with the next release. Windows Vista had great new security features that bogged down the

Windows 10 was a very fined tuned Operating System on its own and functioned very well to meet the demands of the user. Windows 11 is more of a mixed bag. When Windows 11 does something right it nails it, when Windows 11 does something wrong it falls hard. But, for me Windows 11 is still the more modern OS and is going to do everything better once it is tweaked. The key word there is tweaked. There are two programs I can absolutely not live without as a Windows 11 user 1. Star

I am guessing that the demand for fixing Windows 11 taskbar is very high in regards to Start 11 to the point they needed to get the start menu stable very quickly just so they could begin work on taskbar features. StartAllBack is probably the Start 11 teams main competition and they have had taskbar fixes for a while now. Start 11's actual start menu blows their start menu away already so naturally working on the taskbar to finish them off makes the most sense. Start 11 is a very ambi

I was once worried that Microsoft would make an update for Windows 11 that would cause start 11 not to work, but I think if that were to happen it would have while Windows 11 was still in Beta. Windows 11 has received a lot of updates and never once has start 11 crashed or stopped working after an update so I feel pretty confident start 11 is now in the clear in regards to how it handles updates. As far as updates for start 11, they have just now started splitting two versions. A rele

Start 11 1.0 is considered a full released product. But development will continue as Beta releases so if you update you will once again enter Beta for start 11. The change logs can be found in the start menu products sections pinned. With this release it is "start 11 1.01 report thread" change log is the very first post I would rank this Beta as very stable. It may have been more of a test flyout since once the Taskbar changes

It means that the actual stardock software is not a virus but that does not meant that it can not have a virus in it. For example if you have a cracked version of the software it could come along with a virus embedded. But if it came from this site it will just be a false positive.

Ok. Let me clarify. So when using the windows 11 theme, any shortcut icons or folders that I have altered via the change icon option that are pinned to the start menu no longer have the custom changed icon look and have instead reverted to the original default icons. When using windows 10 theme this is also true, but if I enable the experimental tile option then the icons also will change to the new icons so it seems the experimental option is also preventing custom changed ic
