Thanks again AzDude. However, I just want my files to stay put in the window where I place them. I don't want to put all documents of certain type (e.g. Word Docs) in a single window. The desktop is organized by task. Each task contains a mix of file types. This issue is a bug that Stardock needs to address.

By the way, the fence "locking" did not fix the issue. The fence lock just controls the size of the fence on the desktop. It does not lock the contents of a fence.

Appreciate the help AzDude. I wish, however, that the files would stay where you put them without having to lock and unlock the fence each time you make a change to the members. Stardock should fix this "feature."

I have a number of fences on my desktop. Within these fence are various MS Office files such as MS Word document files. When I edit one of these MS Word files, the Word software creates a temporary file that appears in the fence designated as the default. When I then save the edited file it moves from its assigned fence to the default fence. The end result is that every time I edit a word file it erroneously moves from its original, designated fence to default fence.&n
