it is--it's been off this whole time. So, after a couple of MMC errors & instances of store corruptions not being repaired, I discovered that I haven't upgraded to the Oct 2020 version of Windows. So I'm doing that now, hoping that will repair any corrupted files or whatever is causing the issue. I'll let you know if it's successful or not (fingers crossed it will be--I really miss playing in Curtains). Best, Jenn

The apps with Object Desktop are the last stuff I've actually installed other than Windows, Intel & HP updates. Everything but CursorFX was working fine until the night before last when CursorFX would open (and stay open) but then Curtains started opening & immediately closing. The only settings I've changed have been to my desktop, cursor, and file/folder appearance. If I did accidentally change some important setting (though if I get that warning about making the
Well, the Windows 10 re-install fixed it for a little while. Now both CursorsFX and Curtains open for a split second then close again. I found the below issues in Event Viewer--I don't know if they hold the answer, I'm hoping y'all will understand them. There are multiples of each example, my Event Viewer appears to only be going back to the 1st, though. And, interesting that I did not find Curtains in Event Viewer when I'm having the same issue with that app as well.&
Sorry for the response delay!! I had to do a re-install of my Windows 10 so I'm slowly re-adding apps & stuff. I'll work on CursorFX today and let you know how it goes. The re-install may have fixed it (wouldn't that be lovely?) :)
it brought up the "Do you want to allow this app...." box, I clicked yes. Then my task bar sort of jiggled/glitched a little then nothing. It's showing as a Background Process in Task Manager, though (I don't know if that means anything or not). It's not showing under "Apps" like the others I have open (Opera, Outlook, File Explorer, OneNote, Word).
oh, shoot! Things look different when you include the "file extension" column. So sorry! This is what I have in Program Files (x86):
This, right? I couldn't make the text any smaller but the screenshot is showing the whole list of files under CursorFX. Weird how there isn't a .exe file, though. I included a screenshot of my Start Menu showing CursorFX under "Recently Added". I always assumed stuff was successfully installed if it appeared in my Start Menu. Should I uninstall, reboot, purge completely, reboot then re-install again from My Downloads in my Stardock account online? <img
Sweet!! Thank you so much! it downloaded & installed successfully--fingers crossed it opens for me. :)
Hi Sean, It doesn't open from Start or Search either. I followed the path you provided and pulled up CursorsFX in the Program Files (86) folder but I don't have the Compatibility tab when I pull up Properties: I also don't have CursorFXConfig.exe. I have CursorFX4-fs-setup_sd and "run as administrator" is already unchecke
I'm fairly new to this site and the world of "skinning" and "theme-ing" and I was reading on the site that Skin Studio is included with my recent purchase of Window Blinds (I actually purchased the whole Object Desktop that included Window Blinds) and that it's compatible with Windows 10, which I am running on a HP Pavilion. For the life of me, I cannot find Skin Studio anywhere! I also got the Object Desktop Manager that keeps all these programs together but Skin
HI Basj, I purged but got the below message. I re-started, re-installed and then re-started again. CursorsFX still won't open. I stays in my Object Desktop as "Configure" but it now has a "cursors" option that takes me to the website where I can download new cursors--that's new. Before it would only let me uninstall. This is the message that I've gotten both times I've run the purge, even though it says on the "cmd" screen that it was compl

quick update--i did sfc/scannow & Windows did find & fix some corrupted files (I don't know which ones, though) so I finished that, re-started so it could finish the repairs and when I opened ObjectDesktop, the drop down menu in CursorFX showed "Open" (it usually says "Configure"). Yay, it's fixed!! Eh, not so fast. Clicked on "Open", got the "Do you want to allow this app to make changes..." box, clicked yes and same thing---nothing. BUT......now the drop down menu
Hi Sean, I always click "yes" when that warning box comes up but mine looks like this and once I click yes, the box goes away and the app is supposed to open but it stopped opening Sunday or Monday: My Controlled Folder Access is already turned off. So I clicked on CursorFX in ObjectDesktop and this time the Windo
Thank you!! Could you also forward that I also downloaded the Object Dock manager and while it says "Configure" in the drop-down next to CursorFX, it won't even open from there? And when going through ObjectDock Manager it doesn't even bring up the "Do You want to allow this app...." box like it does when I try to open from Start or my Desktop? thank you so very much for all your assistance, Basj!
I installed it in the default location.
My apologies. I've now done the purge and a restart. I confirmed that CursorFX was completely removed from my Start Menu, my desktop, my Apps and my Programs--though it did not remove the file from my Windows (86) folder where the system put it during the install so I deleted it from there manually. I re-installed again using the link in my purchase invoice, accepted the T&Cs, entered my License Key & email address when prompted, got the "activation successful" messa
Hi Basj, So I completely uninstalled CursorFX, made sure it was removed from my Apps, my Programs and I even confirmed it was completely removed from the registry. Then I restarted and downloaded it again from my invoice. Made it all the way through, including entering my Product Key & email address and got confirmation that it was activated successfully. Restarted and it's back in my Start Menu, under Programs in Control Panel and under Apps in Se
I'm running Windows 10 on a HP Pavilion and I cannot get CursorFX to open. I had the free trial version that worked for about 15 minutes then crashed completely, never to be revived. I purchased ObjectDock last night, deleted the trial version then downloaded & installed CursorFX and IconPackager and I know they installed completely--IconPackager works just fine, I had to provide my Product Key in the last step of the install, both are showing in my Start Menu and the shortcut
