Thanks I will try WindowBlinds then . I have a license for both anyway. What I'm ideally after is to get Windows 10 as close to the below look as possible -- as far as title bars and window frames are concerned. I have already set up Start menu, taskbar etc. and these don't need to be changed. Would it be better to use Curtains or WindowBlinds for this? <img src="https://cdn.stardock.us/forums/70

Also, I have someone's Curtains Style here that is supposed to do just that. However, instead that style makes the title bar and borders completely translucent. Unfortunately I can't find the right place in the Curtains style editor where I can change this?

Hello, thanks for the information. I also just want to make the titlebar and the window borders a bit transparent in the default theme named "Windows 10 by Microsoft" in Curtains (I'm using a Vista inspired Windows Theme). If I use two squares on top of each other with different transparencies (see attached), it seems to work to some extent. However, the top corners of the titlebar then lose their roundness. Also, the frame doesn't become transparent? <img src="h

OK. What about the DPI? I have now installed also Curtains. There, it seems that at least some themes are Hi-DPI aware: However, Curtains crashes whenever I try and apply any of the themes :(

Hello Forum, Three questions about WindowBlinds, which I just bought and installed: How can I exclusively enable skinning of windows only and leave everything else untouched, especially start menu and taskbar? I can't get the WindowBlinds tray icon to show in the Windows tray, even though I have enabled the option in the Settings. What can I do? Is it really the case that WindowBlinds skins ar
When you install Curtains, this theme comes with it.
I hope to not offend anyone here, but this looks a little sterile and a little like a chinese (or Linux-based) knockoff of the good old Windows XP
Stardock Curtains also supports high dpi and usually scales down from a super high res version of a image making life easier for the author who only has to include the one image.
In this case, Curtains seems to be the way to go for me, as soon as some great XP or 7 or Vista themes become available for it. Or I just leave it with my above, patched theme which also is not too bad.

Yes, technically speaking that is probably correct. Still, I find it somewhat strange (by Windows, that is) that not even System Restore fixed this. Anyway, I got my theme back

Thank you Dave, that looks great! I have installed WindowBlinds now and tried one of the themes that come with it. Works good, however, it seems that the skinning is not HiDPI aware? Everything looks blurry on my 4K monitors with Windows scaling set to 200%: Is that normal, I mean, are the skin elements of WindowBlinds (like buttons, round corners etc.) not availabl

Guys, I have been trying to figure out which software to use for skinning Windows 10 with a Windows XP or Windows 7 theme, including round corners and including scrollbars, for a long time without real success. Can somebody point me in the right direction, particularly whether I should use WindowBlinds or Curtains, or something else?

I've tried Curtains now, but got nowhere near to what I'm trying to achieve as in below screenshot. Also, I had to do a system restore afterwards, because Curtains wouldn't give me a way to undo the skinning [e digicons]-_-[/e]
Using SecureUxTheme, a Windows Theme downloaded somewhere, and OpenShell for the Start Menu and Taskbar, this is what I currently have: <img src="https://i.imgur.com/6anxVVv.png" alt=""

Hi all, I'd also like to know the differences between "Curtains" and "Window Blinds". What I'm trying to do is having a basic, stable Windows 7 skin on Windows 10 Pro. Using SecureUxTheme, a Windows Theme downloaded somewhere, and OpenShell for the Start Menu and Taskbar, this is what I currently have: What is missing is Aer
