Reply to Making shortcuts in Fences

Basj, thanks for your prompt reply. I see where I was going wrong with making shortcuts as I had mistakenly been swiping with my right mouse on the desktop, perhaps as I used to do before I installed Fences, but your post reminded me to do that in a simple right click with no swiping. I can create program icons in a similar way but your post reminded me that I can also do this a right click on the program name from File Explorer. Great support !

thanks, some neat tips there, and answered my slightly tongue in cheek question about what is a Fences Portal, but my main question "how do I create the shortcut to put into a fence eg. to run a program" was not answered. AzDude, I uninstalled Kaspersky but it made no difference. I then checked startup and found that Fences had been disabled from startup (perhaps by me, or perhaps a 'tune-up' utility) so I re-enabled it and it works fine now. I've reinstalled Kaspersky that that wasn't the problem. Thanks anyway for the suggestion.

I'm new to Fences, and running 3.0.9.11 which looks good once it's working, but my issue is that Windows now starts up with a blank desktop and my desktop icons and Fences only appear once I rightclick on the desktop at which point they take some seconds to completely load which is really slowing me down. I really need Fences to start automatically with Windows. I'm using Windows10 with Kaspersky security cloud free a/v. Ho
