I kept Googling, and may have stumbled upon the solution to my problem: it's a brand new Windows feature called "Potentially Unwanted App Blocking", which the article states is intended to block unwanted software that is sometimes bundled with other apps already installed , although the article said it might sometimes mistakenly block legitimate apps (or in this case, certain parts or functions of legitimate apps). It can be switched on or off by the user. It'

I uninstalled Curtains and the issue went away. I then reinstalled Curtains again just to see if anything different might happen. For a little while, the issue didn't return, but did later. I then tried changing the Curtains style to various styles that come with the app when first installing; no difference, the start menu still disappears after 1/2 second and the WiFi icon on the taskbar still was unresponsive when clicking on it (this icon has caused the most issues with unresponsiv
Before seeing that you'd replied, I got impatient and went ahead and downloaded the latest Win10 version from the cloud and reformatted. After doing so and then checking for Windows Updates (Aug 2021 patch Tuesday was the only update left to install, which I then installed), I then checked with Dell's support website & installed their utility that then checks for any drivers or other updates and did that as well. I then installed Start10 v1.97 and didn't notice any issues at first
Basj, I'm using Windows 10 21H1 OS Build 19043.1165 Start10 (v1.97) DeskScapes 10 (v10.02c) I was hoping to find out if these issues were due to the August patch Tuesday or if my PC merely needed a fresh OS install (if it's the latest Windows Update causing it, then a fresh OS install might not do any good).
Clicking on the Windows Start icon on taskbar intermittently brings up Start10 menu for 1/2 second, even after many repeated attempts. I ran sfc/ scannow command as Admin; it found errors and corrected them; restarted my PC, but issue persists. I then un-installed Start10 (v1.96) & downloaded & installed latest Start10 version (1.97) and it still acts up. Also, Deskscapes10 not displaying almost all of my downloaded .Dreams within the Deskscapes browser. Tried adding a filepat
Basj, Thanks for your reply. I somehow overlooked the obvious first. I "enabled" editing and now can adjust the transparency. I'd mistakenly thought the update had not fully installed correctly. My mistake. Thanks for your efforts to assist me.
Thanks for your reply. That did the trick. I just needed to "enable". Oops. Sorry for not noticing the obvious first.
Basi, Thanks for replying. The very screen image you've provided is the very one I was referring to. Curtains sent me a notification (a window that appeared on my desktop) that there was a Curtains update, which I installed. However, after the update (and restarting my computer), none of the adjustments in the Edit>Advanced Properties window work. I can click on one of the items in the left column to highlight it, but nothing in the right column (including the tiny down arrows) wor
I see what may be the adjustments for Windows Explorer background transparency, BUT I can't get anything to edit or change. I've tried clicking on various parts of the GUI and aside from sometimes highlighting something, I can't seem to get anything change by either clicking on something or trying to type in a numerical value. I'm definitely in the edit mode for a certain Curtain style. I don't know if I'll even like the transparency effect, but I'd at least like to see what it's like. Please
I have all my docks set to autohide and when attempting to mouse-over the edge of the screen, icons either hang or are EXTREMELY SLOW to pop-up (appear). I use the bounce effect for the icons, and sometimes the icon I've clicked on will remain suspended "up in the air", instead of returning to it's original position. Aside from this persistent issue, everything else seems to work OK using Windows 10. I've used Windows 10 compatibility troubleshooter and tried compatibility with Windows 8, Win
