Do you have an accent color applied. If so, make it a lighter shade, or Reset Default, so the texture will show.

Try rolling back from the Preview update to 26200.6901 and see if that fixes it.

You can always hold the Ctrl key and scroll to increase or decrease the icon size.

The transparency and the background texture, as well as the stat menu background image or color, can affect the actual color you choose. Make sure you have the same transparency and the background texture chosen for each tab.

Start11v2 is very capable software, and will scale down oversized PNG files, but it is not a graphics editor. Basj, I think this thread is a Feature Request instead of a query for help. The issue I was having with the first tab on the page not painting the texture after a restart of Explorer or after a computer restart seems to be resolved. Ref. There is no way for me to try and reproduce this since I don't have a drawing tablet. Do you have any pinned apps on your taskbar? Do you have this same issue with pinned apps? Are you using the enhanced taskbar? Are you using a custom start button?

[/quote] As an test, move the Start button to the middle, and see if it makes a difference.

I understand now. You are using something like a Wacom drawing pad with a stylus. It could possibly be the pressure setting for the stylus. Does it make a difference where you are on the pad when you click the Start Button, or is the pad a pixel for pixel image of the monitor?

It's possible, if this is a touch screen, you may need to change this setting.
