Start11 — a way to crop the selected image before using it as an icon

Sometimes, when setting an icon image, I want to use just a part of some image I downloaded. For example, when setting an icon for Cities Skylines 2 I wanted to use a wallpaper with the game's logo in the middle, cropped to just the logo.

I would love some simple built-in interface to do that when selecting the image to use. Something like the below:

If you open your image in the Windows Photos app you can crop the image and then resize it to 256 x 256. Then save is as a PNG file somewhere on your C: drive.

Yes, thank you, I know how to crop an image. What I am asking for, specifically and explicitly, is a way to do that while setting the icon, without the need to use any other software. TileIconify, which is what I was using on Win10 to create custom tiles, had this functionality.

I also used TileIconify. It was a great utility, but the creator stopped supporting it and it was not compatible with Windows 11. Start11v2 is very capable software, and will scale down oversized PNG files, but it is not a graphics editor.

Basj, I think this thread is a Feature Request instead of a query for help. Please pass on the SD dev's.
