Well I'm happy to report that uninstalling and reinstalling/rebooting with the download provided seems to have corrected the issue at this point, in that I am no longer getting a blank black screen after hitting the close button at the screen top. Thank you AzDude for your answer and assistance. However, having said that, it still remains that this version of the product is not necessarily an improvement to previous versions in that it cannot be started with windows minimized.&n

So now Object Desktop is doing something new when it starts up when Windows starts. After it loads its icon display of products, when I click the close ( X ) button to send it away - it actually minimizes to the task tray I get a 'blank black window' the same size as the original screen that opens and I cannot get rid of it without shutting the application down from the hidden task tray icons. Screenshot shown below. <img src="

Years ago Stardock had a product that would keep track of the installed software and download it in the background according to settings and start up with Windows but startup 'minimized' to the taskbar. Although this Object Desktop Application is nice it is so annoying that it cannot be started minimized like that other product did. It starts and sits on the desktop like a big fat sore thumb and gives no indication that it can even be minimized. Clicking the minimize butto

Hmmm. Well I purged and reinstalled on C: from J: my normal software drive as C: has very limited space. Anyway, that seemed to fix it, but the information on the about page is still the same, so I don't know what the issue is with that, but it seems to have fixed the display of the Settings except that apparently it is dependent on each individual theme as I have some default themes that still do not skin Settings correctly. It would be much easier if Stardock just excluded Windows functiona

I followed the steps outlined in the forum entry you recommended and had to make some modifications to the batch file to point it to the alternate drive where I store software, but checking the information in the batch file against the outcome of the execution it appears that all of the the previous version of window blinds was removed along with associated registry keys, etc. However, I downloaded the latest version of the WindowBlinds from Stardock and my About page has the same infor

Just recently updated to Windows Release 1903 (per demand of Microsoft (pushy notice in Notifications). Anyway after the update the Settings App is no longer being skinned by WindowBlinds. I have updated to the most recent version of WindowBlinds 10.82 . I am currently using the theme 'The Captain' as shown below: <img src="https://cdn.

Hi, I've decided to give Keyboard Launchpad a try but am somewhat stymied by how to use it. I've checked the learn more page on Stardock.com but still have some questions. Is there a User Manual for this software, or a tutorial somewhere as to exactly how to use it with some clear cut examples of setting it up? Thanks in advance for any and all replies. I resolved this issue. Note you must have an internet connection to use this solution! Having purchased other Ashampoo software (directly from Ashampoo), here is how to resolve the issue. First, go to Ashampoo.com website ( www.ashampoo.com ). At the top right of the screen you will see a login. If you don't have an account, create one then once logged on to your account go to the 'Licenses'

I've searched the WB forum for an answer but could not find one, so... I've noticed that after skinning Windows 10 using the latest version 10.65 of WindowBlinds that most skins interfere with painting interface items such as 'back' arrows specifically in the title bar area of the various Settings applications after opening them from within the Settings screen of Windows 10. So I'm wondering if this is a known issue and if there is a solution; if not how do I removing skin

This question may have been asked and if so, I apologize, but I was just wondering -- who (if anyone) is responsible for keeping the Stardock Website updated and maintained? The reason for this is I come to the website now and again to look around and it always seems as though I continually find information on older products but nothing on the latest offerings from Stardock. Additionally, the site doesn't seem generally intuitive, such as where is the documentation for the products you

This is a bug report. I noticed that if I have two 'different' images as background on my two monitors when taking a snapshot of the screen as Fences does, the image that appears in the subsection entitled 'Layout Snapshots' does not duplicate the screen correctly. It duplicates whatever background I have for my primary monitor. However, if I restore this snapshot it does not replace the image I have on the secondary monitor with the one contained in the snapsh

Window Blinds 10 (10.0.7) gives a decompression error during installation on Windows 10 Pro (Ver: 1607, OS Build: 14393.51). Anyone else run into this problem? Any and all help appreciated.

I would like to suggest an update to this forum for 'Ease of Use' . Two years ago I made a suggestion on one of the sub-software forums for a feature request that another user also added a response too making the same suggestion that I had made. No one from Stardock ever acknowledged my suggestion which would have been appreciated, but I both understand the nature of the software business having worked in it for many years, and under

Hello Neil, I am using Bitdefender Total Security 2016. Subsequent to my initial post I tried using the configuration setting that does not change the settings of these apps by not having them skinned which has allowed them to run and appear. So as I run into additional apps that won't run correctly I am chanigng their skin settings to see if that resolves the issue.

I am having a similar issue. with my copy of 2.13 in that it arbitrarily selects a icon from somewhere in the fence list of icons. It only seems to happen in fences that contain a lot of icons. The particular fence on mine has 81 icons in it and icon 76 was the misplaced one. in a fence with 7 icons across the length.

I am using Fences Version 2.13 and WindowsFX Version 5.15 on a Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit OS Dell. Thanks for the info. I was racking my brain trying to figure this out. I even have Windows FX running and didn't even check the desktop icons tab - duh... My desktop looks so much cleaner without having all the labels all over the place. Thanks again.

2 Replies 26,270 Views

I thought there was a feature in Fences to hide the labels under the desktop icons?! I recently had all of the text labels hidden on my desktop without having to use that Rename -> ALT+255 hack. That method works but is lame. I know I did it with some piece of software or a registry change. Does anyone know how this is done with the registry or a piece of software from Stardock that does it? I tried that lame software Desktop Icon Toy - lame - didn't work.
